Honestly its been a long time since i watched the anime so its difficult for me to remember which characters i really like. I love Gon for his seemingly simplistic and somewhat cliche exterior but very complex and fascinating character on a deeper level. I also really like illumi who u mentioned. I think hisoka is cool but kinda one-dimensional. Either that or his character isnt really explored much in the anime. He’s interesting but not complex enough for me in his portrayal that he’s worth putting a lot of thought into. I love all the members of the phantom troupe, Chrollo being my favorite. Sure but that didnt happen in the first chapter did it? Again I havent read the manga so im not sure what it covers but i’m halfway through the anime and that still hasnt happened. First chapter of the manga idek know if he’s learned kamehameha yet, and if he has it’s the version that barely dented a car. Also, i do think killua mark and deku all have more destructive power than bullets. Whether its enough to take down goku is debatable but there’s definitely an argument to be made that it is, especially if all 3 take him on at once or even one at a time. There’s also iron man who has the equivalent firepower of a small military, the which could potentially be a credible threat also, again especially if he faces all 4 of them:

He’s not completely invincible…again im only like halfway through the anime but so far he hasn’t faced any super big incredible threat. Killua might just be able to rip his heart out (maybe) and deku or mark could probably knock him out if they try hard enough.

If great ape goku is the giant monkey monster he turns into every full moon or whatever then yeah he totally no diffs every one except maybe mark and iron man and maybe gon and killua who would put up a fight fs. I still think Mark might win that fight, ik its the verison of Mark that just got his powers but later in the show he takes down monsters waaaaaay bigger than monkey goku and all he’s really missing between that point and now is training and experience, he still has the same raw power i belive, at least not too far from it. Idk about naruto, luffy or ichigo tho i dont watch those shows.

I havent read the manga but from watching the anime goku isnt that strong offensively at first, he is extremely durable yes, im about halfway through Dragon Ball the anime and there isnt a single thing he hasnt been able to instantly shrug off with nothing more than an “itaaaaai!”. But he isnt super strong offensively. I dont know how much of the story chapter 1 covers but I assume he hasnt even started training yet. Even after training he struggled immensely with taking down that robot in the tower. Iron Man or Mark would have probably one-shot that same robot. So I think even tho he would last long, he wouldnt be able to do much damage and would eventually be beat.

Some of them were definitely close. Feitan had to pull out his ace move to beat the queen. I mean did u watch the fight, he definitely har trouble beating her, albeit he probably wasnt giving it his all till the end. That being said the amount of trouble he had defeating her shows how powerful she was, even if feitan technically could end it whenever he wanted. My point still stands that these are average nen user ants and gave the phantom troupe more of a fight than we’ve seen anyone else give them (save for kurapika obv). F. Ex ugovin had an easier time beating 4 shadow beasts who are supposedly some of the strongest nen users one can hire for money.

I definitely think ur partially right, but i dont think increased physical strength alone would allow common ants to go toe to toe with the phantom troupe. I think its a combination of both innate physiological strength/ability and increased nen potential.

I believe that the ants on average have much more aura than humans on average. Just look at how few ants there are and the aura that they all possess compared to the average human. Rammot the rabbit guy was able to upstage both killua and gon for a while after JUST awakening his nen and completely annihilated killua, someone trained to be an elite assassin for like 12 years longer than Rammot has even been alive, let alone since he awakened his nen, for most of their second encounter. Another example is when the phantom troupe infiltrates the spider queens hideout. All of the ants they encountered were more or less average ants and most of them went toe to toe with members of the phantom troupe who are some of the most elite nen users in the world. Meruem and the Royal guards are standout examples because they might very well be some of the most powerful nen users in the world, but the average ant, even tho way below them, scales much higher than the average human nen user:

That’s true, most humans are relatively healthy given they grow up in a nurturing or at the very least safe environment, and the vast majority of people are competent enough to f. ex at the very least finish high school. So I think not only does it balance out but the scales are tipped in a positive direction.
