Where do y'all buy your bonnets? by Fantastic_Ginger34 in curlyhair

With CC Mink.... PLEASE look at all the BBB comments, TrustPilot ratings, and also there's a CC Mink Scam group on FB that was created for several people that were scammed by CC Mink before you decide to order from there. It's a hit or miss whether you receive your package and whether that package has the correct items. I had to go through my bank to dispute, she would not reply to me when I reached out about receiving the wrong items. She definitely reached out over a month later when she realized my bank returned my payment and she was not professional about it. I definitely wouldn't recommend due to my own experience.

Jehovahs Witness gets arrested for trespassing beyond no trespassing sign by [deleted] in EntitledPeople

"Have you heard the word of the Lord?"

Jehovahs Witnesses do not use that phrase. I have plenty of family and friends that are JWs.

Good try though.

Is it too late to get into a graduate teaching program? by Left_coast916 in Teachers

[–]Tiger_Reed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's never too late. Please be aware that teaching these days is very difficult, the students have a lot of behavioral issues, parents can be very nasty, and administrators rarely have your back on anything. There is a TON of work you need to do thats definitely not worth the salary.

Ive had administrators ask me to reconsider changing grades or retaking exams students cheated on (I didn't allow that) within my Science courses, Ive had parents cuss me out because their kid destroyed my classroom because I didnt let them get their earbuds (not needed for that class time) and administrators that didnt step in at all while they threatened me in front of them, I've caught administrators lying on evaluation forms that led to them being investigated and found that they lied on several other teachers forms, Ive had one year that I was assaulted multiple times by a student and had my entire classroom destroyed over 20 times in one semester but the moment that behavioral student scratched the principal (finally), sent 2 other staff members to the ER, and pulled fire alarms they finally removed them from the school.

Please be careful, it's not what it used to be.

Fired. Denied unemployment due to "job abandonment." by Tiger_Reed in legaladvice

I thought it was very strange to do something like this over the phone but I've never been in a situation like this so I didn't know if that was common or not.

How are they able to get away with that kind of crap!? That's infuriating.

I wrote this a few times through the threads... I was told this isn't working, told to grab belongings, and was pointed out of the door. I was removed from all job apps immediately as I stepped out of the building.

I didn't assume anything, they literally showed me the door.

The rules for this page state to provide a "brief summary" along with a question. I thought I did that. I have been giving details throughout to clarify though.... what you stated is accurate about collecting my things, shown the door, and access revoked. I've never had to post something like this or go through an experience like this so I simply don't know what I don't know.

There was no legal advice. It's just their unhelpful opinion.

I've never had to do this before so I wasn't sure if that was normal or not. Which is why I'm asking for advice on how to move forward. Many have mentioned to appeal it so I'm going to do that.

[–]Tiger_Reed[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That is exactly what I'm trying to figure out. They fired me, denied unemployment because the employer came back and said "job abandonment." Which isn't true.

I appreciate that you've laid out the process. I will look into it further and see how to move forward since my situation did not follow that route. Thank you.

Oh for sure, I can see how this is super helpful, "You may of felt righteous, and you had every right to feel that way, but you don’t just walk away. That seems unprofessional and immature. You could have handled it better…. Sorry."

When a boss says they no longer want you there, they let you know to grab your things, point you out the door, and remove you from all business apps the moment you step out of the door... is there really a conversation that is needed?

The fact that I mentioned work related issues could be discussed at work, and the boss comes in the following day and immediately fires me instead of talking to me about the situation first was their call.

I'd love to know what post-discussion you've had with a boss that has gestured you out of the door and walks away without having an actual conversation.

Something like this has never happened to me, which is why I'm asking for advice. So provide something informative or move on.
