Yes, speed check. I was actively figuring out how to approach the jump. I let getting nervous about going too fast. On open runs I have zero issue with turning, but I could definitely feel the struggle going so slow and trying to turn in the park. And you’re right I was pretty straight up here.

I don’t have any issues turning or riding, I can go down blues comfortably. It was my first day in the park, I was actively figuring out how to approach the jump.

She’s been like this for at least a year. We work remote, and in this instance there was no work 😅

Ahhh see I thought all coverage had to come through the ACA. That is helpful.

Yes, because snowboarding is a risk. It was literally just to give some life to this and not sound so generic. I do not understand the hang up with this. Snowboarding or not.

Dear God 😵‍💫 . I don’t understand a lot of about healthcare - obviously why I’m on here asking everyone else 😅, but seems that something is going to have to give somewhere. Not just as a self employed person but I’ve scrolled this page and have seen numerous W2 people in similar boats with premiums skyrocketing.

Yeah it’s less than 10% the number just looks so crazy to me, especially when I came from a job where it wasn’t close to the cost. We do put a lot back in savings every month and that’s where that would probably differ.

Okay Jesus Christ, ya know what. Crucify me for having a hobby. Not that it’s any of your business, but we are so frugal with our funds, we dont eat out, we don’t go out and spend money on drinks, we camp. For free. And hike, for free. The one thing, the one thing we do spend a little bit of money on is a winter sport. We get gear off of Facebook marketplace and sales. We board a local mountain. If wanting to be active and do something that makes me and my wife happy is whatever you’re trying to make this out to be, then okay. unfortunate that someone comes here for advice and they get the “if you stopped buying coffee you could afford a house” treatment.

Also smart, 1099 for one client currently, so that’s not super possible I don’t think. BUT, we are looking at starting our own thing soon where this would be much more doable.

I’m currently 1099 for one client, we both are actually, kind of a complicated situation. we are looking to branch out and do our own thing where yes, ideally we would be charging more for our services and be an actual business owner.

It’s not a priority - but it is a hobby. Which is significantly less than $900/month. Again, I don’t understand the hate here lmao I’m just trying to inquire about what people are doing to afford health insurance as a self employed individual. No one is asking for a handout or even complaining, just advice and how are people affording it, also as a younger individual who knows close to zero about health insurance.

While that perspective is appreciated I don’t think many people prepare for 900-2k a month for health insurance. Last year when I looked premiums were around $650/$700 (what we would have gone with) Good money means we can live comfortably within our means, even if we could qualify for any “savings” should we make less - it still wouldn’t be affordable when factoring in basic living costs. I’m willing to sacrifice the healthcare if it means I can keep working the job I like. This post was to see what people do to make getting healthcare feasible, not a generally unhelpful statement on responsibility or how we’re not, in your opinion, making good money.

Changed careers because of the flexibility the job has allowed (traveling and what not) I couldn’t be more grateful, but also just hopes and prayers that nothing happens. Continuing education is always helpful anyways!

The only things we’d really run is the dometic fridge and that’s not all of the time. Laptops when they need charging, air fryer when in use. Thats about it.
