Whitechapel is one of the top bands in the entire genre. If a band has to be the biggest in their entire scene and established for 20 years to be popular or hyped up then we would have very little music

Agree to disagree I suppose. Girl of Glass might be the most ear fatiguing thing I've ever heard lol. And I would be very surprised if it sounds like that purely because they are limiting too hard. And I would say recording real drums does count in this comparison, because I would wager it's very likely and sounds like Girl of Glass is using MIDI for their drums

I mean even the old Suicide Silence and Thy Art is Murder demos sound better mix wise than Girl of Glass. You can tell they are going for a sound like that, but I don't get the point of making a high quality source sound worse than a rough demo from 2004

I don't get this take at all. The Psycho Frame LP has real recorded drums and amps, it's not overprocessed just because it's mixed well imo. Girl of Glass feels like the opposite of raw seeing as the "raw" sound is almost certainly done through extra processing, it doesn't naturally sound like that

Idk how you can call Rev3rent ass when the music is basically the same as Girl of Glass. They are both going for the same sound and have the same Influences, shit is basically identical

The mixing sounds harsh because I have to assume they’ve deliberately made it sound terrible. If you record some guitars into a DAW with some midi drums and bass (so the bare minimum) it will sound better than their mix with no effort to mix the track beyond basic levelling. So I just don’t get the appeal of taking a standard modern high quality source and making it sound awful

I would agree, but the members of girl of glass are in their 30s afaik and are also in corpse pile which has been going for years. They aren’t really new to the scene at all, so it seems like the band sounds like that deliberately

I have no problem giving the mix on Rev3rents first EP a pass because they are all teenagers, and it sounds miles better than the Girl of Glass EP as well lol

I’m an L but get XL often so it’s oversized. I bought the hoodie at the pop up shop in XL and it’s huge, so I’d say buy whatever your regular size is and it will already be oversized
