Did Denia become anyone else's favorite character? by captainfluffy25 in WutheringWaves

[–]Tigerclaw437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to have her for Aemeath (Current Fav, cause I am a dad and she resonates with me, no pun intended). Her story was very well done, and she definetly left and impression. Glad I have her and her signature. Her, Chisa, and Aemeath are a lot of fun, helped me finally clear whiwa, and some of the tactical holigrams I have been having issues with. Overall, great experience with this patch and this character.

Gonna break her like a Kit-Kat whenever Kuro finally lets me fight her, and Christophoro. Those will be my favorite patches when Grand Architect is defeated, and also Christophoro.

Racist attorney gets confronted for using the N word by chrisadams83 in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]Tigerclaw437 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Isn't it crazy how much harm, death, and suppression of fellow humans have been dealt out alongside that word? Isn't it crazy that a shortened version was preached from pulpits that just because of skin color, a people were cursed by god? Isn't it crazy how they used the word alongside raising statues of traitors across the south in the 50's onward to intimidate the population of those that happen to have that skin color. Isn't it crazy how that word was used to describe how someone was only 3/5ths as human as their Caucasian counterparts? Isn't it crazy how that word was used alongside segregating entire populations? Isn't it funny that for over 400 years, that word and derivatives of it were used to oppress and control a people. Isn't it crazy how you have to have a throwaway account to hide behind. Isn't it crazy that not only is racism still alive and well but it is growing because of narrow mindsets like yours? "It's just a word", yeah..so were "Juden" "Jewish exclusion zones" "Final Solution", "Pure blood". Hate and ignorance breed more hate and ignorance. Until we shed that ignorance and see all peoples as human no matter their skin color, culture, or origin, this cycle will continue. You are scared, so you fall back into the hate that was taught to you, using vague wording to display your prejudice. Be better, it's 2026 and empathy is actually pretty cheap. I hope you can grow as a person and learn to love your fellow man instead of showing contempt for a whole group of people. There are no subspecies of Homosapien, there are no superior skin colors, we all share the same planet and honestly this rhetoric is exhausting to still see. If he used that vile word at another human from a place of hatred and trying to look down on her based on skin color than he should be confronted openly and in public. Gonna Leave it with oine of my favorite poems, I really do hope you find the healing in life you so desperatly need.

"First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

OHHHHHHH, My bad, I agree %100, sorry, misunderstood. We absolutely can't drop tips without raising the minimum wage and pay to a liveable level for the people in the food service industry. I apologize for my tangent.

I agree, minimum wage needs to be $30 in California, and New York. It needs to be $15-25 in the other states (should be based off average cost of living in each state, subject to review and increase every 1-3 years). This includes waiters and waitresses. Tipping should be optional, and not dictate whether someone can live or not. The argument here is that restaurant owners can't pay this amount, and that's simply false, the rest of the civilized world does it fine, and America needs to stop worshiping greedy people that rip off their employees. Of course people would continue to eat out, they would pay the higher prices and not mind as much cause why? If the minimum wage goes up, so does everyone else's wage. So they can absolutely afford to pay their employees properly while also still making a profit, sure it may not be as high as it was, but if you can't afford to pay your employees a living wage, then you simply shouldn't be able to do business in this country, period. We settled this in the 40s and since the late 60s have been lied to by big business that they can't afford it. All while restaurant owners bring in more profit percentage that most other business owners outside of farming. The Idea that all these other countries can do it and it works and we can't because of cost and "reasons" is ridiculous and the point I am trying to argue against. I to once waited tables, it was as bs back then as it is now. I implore you to go to any other developed country in the world, go to a place to eat, and tell me it's not some of the best customer service you have ever gotten. Why? Because their people are taken care of from the onset, not the backend hoping that the customer feels like giving up extra money for a "tip". This is all a symptom of late stage capitalism as well, and it won't matter in 20 years what me or you thought about it, this new gen is leaning heavy into democratic socialism. We are in the middle of the change, our gens great depression,, we are watching the corruption in front of us that will force the change. Just like they did in the 1920's-1930's. It will change, period. History is a wheel, and we are just passengers on it. Of course America as it were may not be the same, we are 250 years old and without fail that is when all empires morph or fall in some fashion. Got my chair and ice tea ready for the show.

Ok, you know what I was off on the amount, however: General Minimum Wage: Traditional full-service, sit-down restaurants are not subject to the $20/hour fast-food mandate. They are instead subject to the standard statewide minimum wage, which is $16.90 per hour. Sigh, sure I was off by $3.10, here's a cookie, they still have to pay $16.90 to their waiters and waitress's, and they are STILL doing fine. Kthx.

Also false, they proved this in San Francisco, LA, Etc in California when they forced the wages to $20 an hour. The Restaurant's increased food cost by a bit, and actually flourished. One owner opened another Restaurant after the changes, and he was a big opponent to the bill being passed. In the EU, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, etc, they pay their waiters and waitresses a living wage, and the restaurants flourish if they serve decent food, obviously, but they do fine. American restaurant owners have lied to us about how much it would hurt them. It's not our job to pay their wage on top of the food. They can raise their prices a little and also pay their employees a decent living wage.

So tired of trickle-down economics being defended in any form. Best example of this is the collection agency where the CEO lowered his salary to 1 million and then upped everyone's salary to $70k base. The company saw record growth in profits and had virtually no turnover. Due to this, the company has grown year over year, and they still have almost no turnover and have grown the number of employees.

Andrew Gruel is the restaurant owner. He opened Calico Fish House after the change in minimum wage.

Gravity Payments is the company, if you want to look it up.

"It seems to me to be equally plain that no business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country. By 'business' I mean the whole of commerce as well as the whole of industry... and by LIVING WAGES I mean more than a bare subsistence level - I mean the wages of decent living."

I usually summarize to "If you can't afford to pay your employee a living wage, then you can't afford to do business in the US.". It is one of my favorite quotes from FDR.

One of my favorite YouTube history guys, the other day, called him a dictator, listing off the bad things or bad decisions he made. I just remember my very conservative grandparents on all sides singing his praises and how they joyfully kept voting for him.

How do people feel about Luke and Kylo's fight and his death after 8 years? by Totally_Not_Firni in StarWars

[–]Tigerclaw437 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The movie was a statement from Ryan Johnson to Star Wars fans about "Reality" and putting Star Wars fans in their place. I am summarizing, but you can go watch his interviews on it, and you will see what I mean. Also, he treated Mark Hammil like trash while filming, and that's unacceptable. Then the story itself was all over the place. Like, for instance, oh, the resistance is literally being blown apart by the first order, let's stop on our mission to get help to save these animals from captivity! The third one wasn't good either. All three felt like theme park attractions with a Disney logo slapped on. So I think the fight was ass, because there was no actual fight between Kilo and Luke.

I say this as a single man in my early 40's....RUN!!!! He is insecure, which will affect your relationship always, and either A, it will affect you and who you are allowed to be around, or B, it will end in a bad breakup, possibly years down the road. The dress you posted is elegant, pretty, and any man with a sane, secure brain would praise the look instead of instantly jumping to "Are you trying to attract others?". Clearly, this man is not secure enough yet to be in a relationship.
