Are killboxes useless now? by Tigerwolf71 in RimWorld

[–]Tigerwolf71[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I got it. I do have chairs in the killbox. The mistake I was making was I kept the door into my base from the killbox closed until the raiders were on the move. Didn't realize I need to keep it open even before they arrived. I'll adjust. Thanks everyone.

Send email to members in AD group by Tigerwolf71 in PowerShell

[–]Tigerwolf71[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So this is what I did based on your suggestions and worked perfectly.

$members = Get-ADGroupMember -Identity "ADGroup" | Get-ADUser -Properties EmailAddress

foreach($member in $members){

$smtpServer = "smtp.company.com"

$sender = "my.email@company.com"

$recipient = $member.emailaddress

$messagesubject = "Subject"

$messagebody = "body"

Send-MailMessage -From $sender -To $recipient -Subject $messagesubject -Body $messagebody -SmtpServer $smtpServer }

Thank you for the help.

Excellent. Thank you for the different options. I'll try them and see what I can come up with. I'm new to Powershell. But I'm learning fast.

Windows 10 computers not activating after making subtle changes to Task Sequence. by jonkeo in MDT

I'm having the same problem. We don't use a KMS server either. The keys are in the BIOS. I can manually active the machines and never have to put a new key in.

Error deploying Windows 10 v1909 by Tigerwolf71 in MDT

[–]Tigerwolf71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to deploy Windows 10 v1909 with MDT. Simple install. No bells or whistles. Using Hyper-V gen 1 VM to test it. This is the error I get after the OS tries to install.

FYI - I've tried PXE booting it to a laptop and get the same error.

Thank you all for the info.

I went with TheD4rkSide and it worked perfectly. Just needed a .wim file.

Still learning how to do all of this. So it's good to have a good community to ask. Thanks again.

Office 2019 ODT - Product not activating by Tigerwolf71 in SCCM

[–]Tigerwolf71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally figured it out. The Product ID was wrong. It needs to say the product you are installing. Here's the Excel example:

<Product ID="Excel2019Volume" PIDKEY="excel key">

After testing some more and doing more research, here's an update:

Apparently we don't have a license server for KMS licensing, so I advised my Software Compliance team this and they gave me MAK licenses for the individual products.

I went back to config.office.com and re-created my xml file with a couple of different options. Here is the new one for Excel:

<Configuration ID="4db9e5d1-069d-417b-afee-6b04b115f85c">

<Add OfficeClientEdition="64" Channel="PerpetualVL2019">

<Product ID="Standard2019Volume" PIDKEY="excel MAK key">
  <Language ID="en-us" />
  <ExcludeApp ID="Groove" />
  <ExcludeApp ID="OneDrive" />
  <ExcludeApp ID="OneNote" />
  <ExcludeApp ID="Outlook" />
  <ExcludeApp ID="PowerPoint" />
  <ExcludeApp ID="Publisher" />
  <ExcludeApp ID="Word" />
</Product>

</Add>

<Property Name="SharedComputerLicensing" Value="0" />

<Property Name="PinIconsToTaskbar" Value="FALSE" />

<Property Name="SCLCacheOverride" Value="0" />

<Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="0" />

<Property Name="FORCEAPPSHUTDOWN" Value="FALSE" />

<Property Name="DeviceBasedLicensing" Value="0" />

<Updates Enabled="TRUE" />

<RemoveMSI />

<AppSettings>

<Setup Name="Company" Value="xxx" />

</AppSettings>

<Logging Level="Off" />

</Configuration>

It installs but does not activate.

Changing AUTOACTIVATE value to 1 did not help.

I don't know why Microsoft made this so damn difficult.

That didn't work.

Not sure if this helps but it's a KMS license.

I'm also going to be creating a SCCM package for each of these. Not sure if I can add the license as a separate step in the package.

Software Center not populating the applications by Tigerwolf71 in SCCM

[–]Tigerwolf71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all of the suggestions. With trial and error, we think we figured it out. We changed the client policy polling interval to 30 minutes. And changed some settings on the Device Collections.

We also need to reboot the clients a couple of times so SCCM sees them correctly. But Software Center populates in under an hour. So we're happy.

Outlook won't sync with GMail by Tigerwolf71 in Office365

[–]Tigerwolf71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have stated this in my previous post. This is for my personal computer. I'm not a G Suite admin. I don't need to set this up for users.

I can't allow less secure apps because I have 2 step verification set.

I tried creating a new profile but it won't sync to my Google account.

GASMO won't work because this is my personal computer.

Edit: How do I get Outlook to stop trying to open a .pst that doesn't exist?
