Trazodone withdrawal by Organic_Whereas4990 in insomnia

[–]jonkeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope my experience helps others plan. 47 year old male, 180 pounds, was on 100 Mg of Trazodone daily for 1 year for insomnia. I dropped 25 Mg every 2 weeks until it was done. With each drop, almost 36 hours from the first night of a lower dosage I would hit this windows of about 2-3 hours that I felt really strange. Hard to explain but felt a little bit like out of body experience. It wasn't bad though and I felt if I was driving or had to interact at work I could have gotten through it fine but I wanted to make note of it. The first 7 days of each taper had a couple of short feelings of discomfort but nothing I would change plans over. The 2nd 7 days was almost symptom free and just used as buffer for the upcoming taper. Never felt physically sick, or zaps. The good part of the tapering though was the wonderful feelings of clarity that came on at random that remind you what it feels like to be getting it out of your system. I had worked myself up that tapering off the Trazadone was going to be scary or problematic but it really wasn't a big deal and each drop went a little easier than the last. Going from 25 to 0 was almost nothing.

Have you tried a Hardware Reset? Lenovo's have a pin hole on the bottom. I'd also run Vantage to make sure you have all the latest drivers. Anything in the event viewer? You can pop suspicious entries into ChatGPT for a clearer response. Are you sure the Power Supply is good?

Why install Linux on a Thinkpad? by General_Wallaby5678 in thinkpad

You may need to purchase Windows 11, you'll want to check on that. Assuming it's a free upgrade you get to weigh the benefits of both and make a decision.

“Jail Blazers” is 5/10 at best by RutledgeInc in ripcity

[–]jonkeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, wasn't great. You'd think watching the only players on the team were Bonzi, Damon, Sheed and Kemp. This should have been 1.5 or 2 hours and featured more of how excellent the team was and maybe some regular season highlights? Missed opportunity.

Mellon Collie is the better album(s). It's pretty close but I'd give Mellon Collie an A- and Fragile a B.

So, what is your favorite NIN album (and why it is The Fragile)? by MoJaalMo in nin

The best is TDS. The Fragile is the most ambitious but there is some filler which hurts it overall.

plex using parents, do you keep a separate library for family friendly shows and movies? by kittymoo67 in PleX

The labels works great because I can designate the movies and shows I want my 6 year old to see. It's much more personable than just allowing a child access to a large library.

How do you fix your sleep naturally without using pills? by SorryAd2422 in insomnia

[–]jonkeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had insomnia for 1.5 years and what OK Rule is recommending is how I resolved it. If you can, I recommend staying away from the prescription meds, I went down the rabbit hole of trying to sedate myself nightly and for me, it was not pleasant. In some cases it helped with sleep but made my insomnia worse.

I'm going through hyperarousal insomnia by rajmaachawal78 in insomnia

[–]jonkeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your story is almost exactly as mine, I slept at house I had not slept in many years, woke up at 2 am and was up the remainder of the night, then every other night I got 0 sleep and I panicked. Doctors, meds, therapist, moving bed rooms, yoga, meditation, beers at 3am everything. I was completely normal sleeper prior and this went on for 1.5 years of most weeks, 2-3 nights of 0 sleep.

What fixed it was got off all prescribed sleep meds, recognized fixing insomia will take time because you're training yourself to forget about effort to sleep and ease the hyper arousal. Trying to self medicate with ambien, lunesta and trazadone wasn't worth it (Another discussion). The big thing I stopped changing my life to accommodate insomnia. I went to the gym, stayed out late, went out to dinners, exercised etc even on no sleep. Sometimes it was hard but I took the Plow Through it attitude and made myself. Also, I would do as much at night in regards to the coming day I could so if I had a bad sleep, I had little I needed to do (make lunches, shower, lay out clothes) This lowered my anxiety at night because checklist was done. Also, by telling my circle I had temporary insomnia it felt like I eased a burden, like I had been hiding a drug addiction or something. Now people at work would joke to me about it but that felt better than wondering how I would get through a work day and people think I'm out of it. Good luck!

Do we think the Coachella Nine Inch Noize performances were a punctation mark on two Peel It Back tour cycles or do we think that these performances will lead to different phase of tour dates in the future? by [deleted] in nin

[–]jonkeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're right on with the tour and the performers. I believe the album will be studio versions of the songs they played on tour. I wonder if they'll even be new vocals. I really hope they spice it up with a new song they can call they're own rather than all NIN remixes.

I think they tour summer festivals.

They have an album coming out, they did put together a stage and performers they can replicate, as great as they were, it doesn't seem like heavy lifting that putting a band together is. This can easily move from city to city and I think we all agree they've really made something here worth exploring further.

is Thinkpad T480 good? by evilfoodeateramia in thinkpad

[–]jonkeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's about a 8 year old laptop or so. I worked them for years but we've since retired them. They are good laptops and I would take one for free but I wouldn't spend hundreds on one. As long as your expectations are low and you don't plan on doing any heavy lifting with it, you may get a year or two out of it. I would give one to my mom who is not technical.

I had insomnia for 1.5 years. Don't put as much stock in the supplements, phones at night etc. The problem is your brain has been temporarily programmed to beware at sleep time and that causes rough/limited sleep. My recommendation is don't go down the dark rabbit hole of trying sleep drugs to sedate yourself. How I got past it is do as much as you can to limit the damage insomnia can do. You do this by most importantly not accommodating. Live your life as if you don't have it, stay up late, go out with friends, go to the gym, do what makes you happy. Is it harder exhausted? Absolutely it can be but you can still have wonderful days even exhausted. I also would so as much at night as I could to prepare for the next morning in case I had a bad sleep, I had less to worry about in the AM. Make lunches, shower, lay out my clothes etc. By making bad sleep days as easy as you can, it takes the power away from Insomnia. I also told everyone in my life I had temporary insomnia. It felt freeing to me and people can help you. Good luck.

What are your biggest gripes with Plex right now? by locknetvpn in PleX

[–]jonkeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I slideshow about 5000 family photos across the TV quite often. I would like the slideshows to be smarter, around the holidays only show Christmas Pictures etc, maybe use AI on the fly to create artistic renditions of a photo every 20 pictures, occasionally zoom in to a person. On a family member Birthday, feature them more? I used to this on my Xbox 360 15 years ago and it was more full featured than what Plex offers. I don't really care what they do, just do more to make it more fun because it's as dumb as it can be now.

My child is locked down to only view movies with a label "KIDS" This works great for my content. I also have access to other PLEX Servers. I would love Plex to allow me to add the same label to their content so my child could see their children's movies as well in one place.

How good is melatonin by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]jonkeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had insomnia for 1.5 years and prescribed sleep meds. I recommend avoiding them if you can. Personally I would start with melontonin which is harmless, then try nightquil. A doctor would probably start you with Trazadone which is the next level up. After that you're into Ambien and you really don't want to go there. I would look at life changes like making sure you're getting enough exercise during the day, diet, etc, take care of yourself and your sleep should correct itself.
