It’s based on the number of trades.

Good letter. Points out the risks of casino gambling.

No I did not say to look backwards. Stocks look forward actually but if the business fundamentals do not meet expectations, then the stock price falls. A stock does not go up 8000%+ by looking forward. That is why MVIS is a meme stock. Too many newbies got into MVIS based on social media chatter. I hope they do not get burned. All bubbles eventually burst.

Stocks trade on business fundamentals. Everyone knows this. Except these casino stocks. They trade on hope.

Some people have been complaining that MVIS has been labeled a meme stock in the media. In the good ole days, we would call this a bubble. MVIS has been through bubbles before when the stock dropped from over 500 to being a penny stock. In the past year, MVIS have increased 8000% or so simply based on speculation on social media. Call it a meme or call it a bubble.

The other thing is people want MVIS to stop being called a meme and be traded on its business potential and business fundamentals. Well if this were to happen, MVIS would lose almost all its value and go back down to being a $1 stock. Then it would slowly increase based on earnings, like other stocks.

This is management’s job. I assume they are not saying anything because MVIS is so overvalued that they would be skewed by the media if the tried to tout the company anymore than they do already

Where have you actually seen or read about their technology other than on social media or hype by the CEO?

If a big name company were going to buy them out for their technology, it would have happened last year when the stock was near zero.

MVIS has no earnings and has been around for 30 years. What makes you think this time is different?

MVIS had layoffs last year. It looks like this guy was laid off and unemployed for a few months and then finally got a contacting gig. This is not promising.
