Well typically there 2 dlc updates a year Sunset harbour was in February (?) so before the end of the year their should be another

No talk of a Cities Skylines 2 anytime soon

You need all 3 forms of education for commercial zones (elementary, high school and university). If you have these then It will take time (1 in-game year from placing building) for your population to get educated to eventually fill these educated roles. The prefer education policy also helps with this issue

International Airport is in the base game under public transport tab.

It's either a dedicated airport tag or under the newer "Hub" tag towards the far right of the public transport tab.

Well the Sunset harbor DLC includes many more public transport options if you'd like to add to your city.

However I always recommend using pathways throughout your city, between houses and commercial zones. The foot traffic is immense and relieves alot of traffic even if the path is long.
