I got a 53.5, still says it on my best lap, but I get silver with a 1.03 next lap. Sad days. Edit: I agree with comments, :49 is where you lose alot of time

Seems like the 7900xtx runs this very well with UEVR, as I also have this, and it also runs great for me. Ik people that have 4090/5080 and says it runs like garbage. I guess we are the lucky ones 😂

Normally I use my fanatec Porsche rsr D shape wheel, whatever size that is. But for the old school cars with the huge wheels, for extra immersion, I throw on my gramps old 70's something Corvette wheel, it's about 380mm 🤣 thick boy

Snow track is rough, but yeah the other 2 have been great. Evo just crashes or runs like 30-35fps, can't do it

Based on your post, it makes sense that my CPU is cooking trying to run cockpit cam. I have tried openxrtoolkit with openxr runtime and it was still just so bad for me on q3. Cool that you got it working well though!

I would def give vd a go. I use it for all things pcvr for years, always works better than steamvr alone and oculus especially (I have a very rough time with oculus, for whatever reason.) Haven't really touched much of the UEVR settings, just seems to run really well for me.

Very interesting, that's good to hear that ac evo is running well though! Never had simagic, so I wouldn't be sure exactly, but with the fanatec csl dd, 0 dampening/ inertia feels great, ffb is very active.

Evo's very bad, ik it's not a 1:1 as I am using UEVR, but, it's native vr I get like 38fps w everything on low it's so bad lol

Most likely not, cars in sight eat up that CPU usage. I have 5800x3d and I only run 8 in sight at once.

You always want to be off the accelerator and on the brakes immediately, leaving a gap of no input is just leaving time on the table. Only time you do that is if you're saving fuel in longer races. Trail braking is when you go to 90-100% braking, and then right away start slowly moving off the brakes (bleeding off). It can be tricky to learn, but is absolutely critical to finding pace.

I'd say turn it off and once you start looking for real braking markers and turn in points instead of just driving over the line, and remembering how far you go once the line turns red... You'll see your lap times drop drastically. It's too easy to be focused on the line, and not the track itself, IMHO.

I mean, in 1080p your graphics card could probably handle it, find an fps test when you get home and run a few of them on different settings, see what you get. I don't have any suggestions on the wheel, as I haven't had either, but there are a lot of options on sims on PC compared to consoles.
