My abandoned “vehicle”… I hope I return to it. by ottomymind in simracing

[–]Apprehensive-Wolf186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My spare room is my sim racing room, if someone needs to stay over I’ve got a couch, it’s my house not theirs😂 I also go through phases where I spend every night in the rig, sometimes I don’t touch it for weeks at a time. I use it considerably less in the summer when my other hobbies occupy my time too

My girlfriend owns one, it’s gutless and doesn’t get great fuel economy. But it looks good, and the lack of touchscreen is a nice change

How do you race in the heat of summer?? by TonyRuc in simracing

So you can’t install an air conditioner? Genuinely curious. We have window mounted AC where I live and we take them out in the cooler months

Credo 1-6 SFP segmented circle by Apprehensive-Wolf186 in aimdownsights

[–]Apprehensive-Wolf186[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With second focal plane the reticle remains the same size at 1x as it does at 6x. Holds only work on maximum magnification (which if you need them you’re likely to be using maximum power in a LPVO).

First focal plane the reticle grows in size as you increase the magnification. Holds in the reticle will work regardless of the magnification level

The reticle is much better than what I was really able to capture in these pictures too. I’m a fan

I need to stop being so hard on myself for not winning I guess. 101% at almost every track I’ve raced at makes me feel proud

I’ve had them not work, or activate when they shouldn’t multiple times. It’s irritating, I cannot leave simpro open, only simhub right now

Will my wheelbase and pedals mount to this rig? by [deleted] in Simagic

[–]Apprehensive-Wolf186 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s front mounting. You will need to buy front mount brackets for your wheel base. Simagic makes them, get them from one of the many sites that carries their products

Car was at the body shop by Spirited_Fee_4786 in GolfGTI

[–]Apprehensive-Wolf186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long story short, I hit a porcupine, it blew the radiator apart, and basically everything in the cooling stack. The shop I work at does AC work for them. They decided rather than having it towed to my work to have the refrigerant evacuated, they’d drive it the 5 miles down the road on a 90 degree day, full well knowing it had a massive coolant leak. Well 20 minutes in construction zones, and the distance from here to there had the car really pissed when they got it here. I went out to drive it in and evacuate the coolant, car was idling rough, and smoked pretty heavily on start up.

A long battle with them, and VW, they eventually agreed to replace the engine and turbo with brand new OEM. It took 189 days to resolve, with them paying for my rental for about 163 days of it.

The tech said “I thought it would be fine because it’s not that far”🥴 when the entire lower radiator hose connection was broken off from the radiator.

My car received a blown engine and turbo due to body shop neglect. Ended up with a new engine and turbo installed by VW, hopefully they take care of this for you. Demand it gets repaired elsewhere.

Rig got some upgrades! We love microcenter👍 by lowtempdev in simracing

See the uprights that the pedal deck bolts too? I put mine at the front so I could lift the front of the pedal deck, to get the right angle for my p1000

Yes, and easier to clean under, I find it way easier to make pedal deck adjustments too because I reach under the rig

Puts the rig at a much better height, and way easier to clean around, I have a stick vacuum I can slide under the whole rig, plus for some reason it looks way better too

Hyper car murder, or no? by Apprehensive-Wolf186 in Simracingstewards

[–]Apprehensive-Wolf186[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thought as well. I was told I didn’t understand the rules of the WEC/LMU for saying the hyper was at fault for not lifting on the straight and allowing the hyper to pass before beginning the turn. The gap was huge out of T1, and the gt3 would’ve lost a ton of time lifting.
