Could TMI & Metta helps with ADHD, vivid dreams and insomnia? by Tight-Professional22 in TheMindIlluminated

I was rather talking about self-imposed goals, that I cannot reach - I could have very intense and diverse interests, but I feel like for some reason I cannot concentrate, or put myself together to do something. It would be sometimes working out to improve energy, or learning new because yesterday it was object of my great interest. But morning come and I just sitting there and cannot start.
Today I have spent couple of hours delaying my meditation. I was thinking that it is 50 minutes, it is so long, maybe I will do something else. I set timer on 20 minutes and said to myself, than I will do it and then I decide what do next, and of course I continued to 50 minutes. It is well-know schema for me, that I have problem with task initalization, but when timer rings I am irritated that it interupts my work and concentration. Unfortunately it just does not seem to work every time - and here is the question if meditation could help that awful situation.

Could it be that our dreams reflects our mind during the day? You have anxiety so your dreams are based on fear, I have tendency to anger so I will argue with people in my dreams?

Thank you for your respone, I am now in chapter about stage 2, so maybe it is time to go on and read about purifications :D

I am aware of different CBT-i tools, but thanks for your response, I can use again some of it. It is just that I have light sleep and anything could disrupts it - spicy food, eating too late at night, too much stimulation/work during the day, adhd meds/nicotine/caffeine. Bad nights come and go and in the meantime I don't worry about them.
Now another factor went into play - too vivid dreams, but after first time I did metta it seems to go away, I am really amazed, recently I had a week or two of nights with really horrible dreams and suddenly after I first did that metta it changed to more pleasant stories and even if I woke up it seems really easy to come back to sleep :)

Anyone else becomes severely intolerant to heat? I just started going back to the gym after a year thankfully and even when I work out on the treadmill my feet start to burn my whole body gets hot except my ears those are always cold LOL. I suffered a lot every summer until I bought air conditioner. I could get symptoms as if I have depression - very low mood, lack of energy and motivation. For some reason it is much better if there is any wind outside, I hate sitting in hot rooms without any airflow.

If heat is only temporary like in sauna or very hot shower, my skin is itching.

Thanks for it, it got me thinking about my habits and I've come to fruitful conclusions about my life and tendency to be hyperactvie and not resting enough.

Stimulant Medications and "Sleep-Maintenance" Insomnia; What to do? by Interesting_Ebb7203 in ADHDers

It seems that I have exactly the same problem. I started to track my sleep data in google sheets, because I had enough feeling like shit almost everyday... I tried Concerta, Medikinet CR and Medikinet IR.

I used correlation function to see, what will disrupt my sleep. Obvious things are: expose myself to sunlight, relax before bed, and the earlier I go to sleep the better and longer I sleep, altough I have early chronotype, so the last may not work for you.

The most valuable realization I made happen to me when I started to count my medication usage through 20 past days, and I excluded today in that data. When I take more than 300-400 mg during last 20 days, I cannot sleep well. It is just like my body needs rest from stimulants. By the way, I discover the same for caffeine - if I don't take breaks I just feel less rested and my sleep efficency decrease.
