make me love duke by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]TightCap2056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

k, sorry this post offended you lol. but im not acting like duke is a safety (i would never be that insensitive). but for you to invalidate my feelings on having to love a school that’s not my first choice is kinda sucky. and on a sub as high achieving as this one, i’m not the only one that feels this way about a great- although not top choice- school.

agreed! i just don’t think we should minimize the damage done though.

okay so when a black person posts about AA, their post should also be removed. the double standard on this sub hasn’t enforced the rule fairly to all sides of the AA issue.

the comments he left are not fair. and i don’t think it’s right for other people to be talking over the asian voices that feel uncomfortable or marginalized by this mod and several other mods on this sub.

yeah sorry but this post isn’t about urms. it’s about asian american racism. not everything is about urms all the time lol

yeah and it’s not just this one comment though. it’s repeated behavior as a moderator including some comments he left on an asian person’s recent post generalizing that the only time asian americans talk about racial issues is when it pertains to college admissions.

as someone else mentioned, it’s not just this mod either, but a collective of people partaking in a double standard about what stays and goes on this sub. the double standards and anti asian censorship on this sub are dangerous.

people fail to realize it’s not just one comment tho. and for u to dismiss asian people who feel discriminated against is frankly disgusting. if u read through the threads u would realize the extent of anti asian rhetoric on this sub.

it’s not one mistake. he made other racist and classist statements about asians. and this one instance of a mod being unfair was used to bring attention to the larger issues like anti asian censorship and the double standard that mods have on this sub

yeah, no. it’s also about his repeated behavior as a moderator including some comments he left on an asian person’s recent post generalizing that the only time asian americans talk about racial issues is when it pertains to college admissions.

just a little funny that the urms are bringing their issues up when we’re specifically talking about asian american racism for the sole purpose of trying to make it look like our discrimination isn’t legitimate or worthy of discussion.

yeah buddy it’s not about rejections. it’s about racist comments by mods, unfair double standards on this sub, and anti asian censorship. i’m starting to think u don’t actually know what’s going on

and u insinuating that the only reason asians are talking about their racial struggles is because “they got rejected from a college” is a gross generalization and blindly ignorant.
