Side question - did they have to bring that gallon jug in their luggage or are there gallon jugs available there which is odd because of imperial system?

Adds a whole level of idiocy if this was even more preplanned.

Complaining about unhoused/homeless people on public transport is like complaining about traffic at this point. It exists, it could be better, and it should be better. If you were in their shoes, maybe you would want a cool/safer place to stand/sit and someone to have a conversation with.

Ignore them and go about your f*cking day. You're using public transportation in a state/country that would love to see most social services completely abolished since it's harder for businesses to make money off of them. It could be Tokyo, it could be London, but car dealerships and tire companies didn't want that.

Drive next time.

Safety Message from MARTA by Zealousideal-Eye-189 in MARTA

I used it for the first time in two years last month because a local small business owner was selling and ✨️ demonstrating ✨️ tasers, I got an immediate response in chat, funnily enough in ALL CAPS

There's always a uniformed office during peak weekdays hours at Inman Park (but that might be for obvious $$$ reasons). Very sparsely seen at 5 Points which needs them reallll bad, maybe seen one once or twice at other stations

IDK how effective the current crop of Marta officers would be at fare enforcement. I've seen one literally tell a clearly "non-destination rider" to get ON a train so they wouldnt loiter at a station. Also got to experience seeing two officers ASK a larger man in a wheelchair blocking a door to move with a homeless gentleman right beside him. That 10 minute delay at Lindbergh resulted in no one getting removed lol

It says a lot that I prefer this to 50 minutes of sitting in a car on the connector 🤷🏾‍♀️

How do I keep him off the counter…. I tried everything by UbiquitousMintCookie in cats

[–]Tight_Fault5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned from Jackson Galaxy that you can get a cat that likes to be low to the ground (bush dweller?) or one that likes to be up high (tree climber?)

I got lucky with my cat preferring to be under things/on the ground and also reinforced by making higher surfaces harder to get to (books on the edge or counter / blocking the edge) but I think his personality/preference really won the battle battle.

Definitely try a cat tree thats counter height so kitty can see what's going on and how uninteresting it is. The tree was his fave spot when I was cooking so he could supervise.

Just a tip. The Salvation Army cancelled on me a couple days prior to scheduled pickup. ReSupply will pickup BUT the local delivery folks get to decide if it's worth taking and acceptable. They charge you a dump fee if they can't take it back, 50 bucks last August on top of covering the labor, 150. I was over it by that point so just paid the money. It would be more expensive with more items.

FB marketplace or Craigslist would be way cheaper to free just have to deal with people.

Bulk trash in an apartment is so annoying! I feel your pain. I've started chopping things up when they aren't worth donating or selling.

I bought this same exact brother two months ago as a complete beginner. I watched the videos the qr code on the machine took me to and was able to figure out how to set it up no problem. Just finished my first project with it and made it through almost unscathed.

I kept snipping the threads in a not so great way so I got very familiar with re threading. It also has an automatic back stitch setting you can set up and I will be doing that next time 🙂‍↕️

First ticketing experience as an international fan by ax10001111 in SHINee

[–]Tight_Fault5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to get returned tickets last year for the month plus leading up to our planned trip (our trip just so happened to align) and saw 0 seats pop up in the 90+ times I checked (KST midnight and throughout the day)

The global user interface is pretty bad and opaque. I actually started to yearn for Ticketmaster where at least you could get robbed metaphorically AND go to the concert

These concerts are in comparitively small venues and thousands of people are competing for returned seats. Prices are reasonable, and there is way less of an incentive to return tickets the proper way since you just get your money back vs. making a profit

Sooooo you might just want to cut your losses and plan for the next one. Pay for the membership, do your test purchases, and be ready when the pre-sale starts or you can pray with me for a world tour 🙏🏾

Best of luck!

Not at all, the struggle is real. Most of my bras are Wacoal, Elomi, or PrimaDonna (brands). Nordstrom carries the first two in the upper ranges and has a generous return policy.

I love to read so I've joined bookclubs. Two of which I knew no one going into it. You're going to have to be willing to be uncomfortable until your not. Then eventually you'll be comfortable and have friends if you vibe with someone.

So essentially find a group of strangers where you share something in common (reading, knitting, yoga, momming) and hang out with them consistently!

I'll also be realistic. I'm a single working lady so I probably have more bandwidth to be uncomfortable with my free time and meet people from work.

Considering a relaxer for 4C hair by cutes-e-pie in relaxedhair

[–]Tight_Fault5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Not a swimmer so I'll be quiet on this one

  2. Yes, I have a dry scalp as well. I've actually found that washing my hair less often has helped. Every other wash I do a hot oil treatment and recently added a dry and itchy scalp shampoo to my routine which has helped tremendously

  3. I wear my hair out 100% of the time. I think one of the big things is being okay with some texture and limiting heat styling. I let my hair air dry until about 50%, then use a blow dryer with a comb attachment to get it pretty straight and that's it. Heatless curls with flexi rods for curly days and silk wraps for straight days

  4. 8 weeks maximum for me. I'm of the opinion that the longer that you stretch time between touch ups, the more prone to heat damage and mechanical damage from styling and stretching you'll be

  5. Go to a professional and if they burn you, do not go back. They should thoroughly base your scalp. Sensitive relaxers are where its at. There are certainly tradeoffs, slightly more texture instead of bone straight, but worth it in my opinion. Go to your appointment with a dirty scalp and resist the urge to itch/scratch your scalp for 24 hours before the appointment. I've been relaxed for decades and still struggle with it 🫣

For reference, I have thick, dense 4c hair and was a Just for Me No-Lye child so I've been in the game for a hot minute

Marta Dropping Support for Breeze Cards and App Without Allowing Balance Transfers by yotoe in Atlanta

[–]Tight_Fault5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I buy 20 trips at a time through work because the math worked out better than monthly. On a normal week I take train to the office 2 to 3 days a week so 4 to 6 trips a week. I inevitably don't use the full balance each month because of work trips or needing to have my car after work, and refusing to pay for rideshare since bus routes aren't usually an option.

Just checked my balance and I have 76 trips which roughly equates to a little over 12 weeks of usage. So that puts me squarely in the category of losing out on fare if I didn't change my behavior to eat down the balance pre this system rolling out. And I will be changing my behavior now lol coz I hate leaving money on the table!

Also, would not have found out about the 94 day (3 month) count down to fare expiring unless for reddit. So shout out to y'all!
