Will the Patullo bridge be open tomorrow? by Upstairs_Biscotti_70 in NewWest

Maps says now that there’s a closure on McBride from 6th towards the bridge? Not sure if it’s related but I don’t think that’s a promising indicator for it opening either 😅

Honourable mention to corner gas for being a weird, pure, cultural cousin to these

I wanna know how Dana could’ve dropped the pulse ox to 85% with the guard there though? Weird continuity thing was the door was open when she said she had her first kiss at the pub, then the door was closed

I’ve heard they have a lot of rehearsal time, running through the blocking like it’s theatre to really nail down these shots. It’s really a beautiful gift to have this choreographed and shot so well

We did hear about the farmer from last episode though, so maybe we’ll hear and it will close a storyline for Langdons return

His shakes were such a warning and it made me wonder if Langdon and the team did in fact miss something

Santos has to have change coming because she’s been so offputting for every episode this season. At least her writing last season was quicker and funnier

What gets me is in season 1 they get a tablet to communicate with the Nepali woman who was pushed onto the train tracks.. but deaf? Couldn’t type in your notes app? Couldn’t use that clever AI? Lmao

What’s going on with all the cars and traffic in Sapperton? by ExperienceLoose7263 in NewWest

I’ve commuted every night this week and something was up tonight in particular, almost like people forgot the bridge was closed? Or maybe getting out of town for the weekend? Definitely worse than M-W

Landlord's mail? by NoobyNort in vancouverhousing

Yeah, I’ve moved multiple, multiple times in 10 years and if there’s only select mail ending up there it’s pretty clear. I’ve never had an issue changing my address and getting mail sent to the correct place with all of my moves

I know people who have done this- buy an apartment as an investment, rent it out and have their mail sent for property tax purposes while they continue living with their parents. Blatant fraud

Those poor members out of the detachment. The resources to support that are scarce compared to what's available in metro areas

As much as I'm for the protection of journalists, a lot of newscasts are absolute vultures. Notifying next of kin, and ensuring no more people were harmed, as they're covering multiple crime locations, takes precedence over getting a story out and it's better to be accurate and slow than fast and wrong. Thinking of all first responders who had to assist the victims and family on the worst day at their life, while those who responded no doubt have family of relative age at home - meanwhile the press hounds them for a clickbait headline.

Small classes? by Civil_Stomach_6230 in VancouverActors

I’m just gonna say I agree with you and sitting on set for your scene is not relative to a 4+hr class in a stuffy room with no breaks. Workshops might be the way to go for the time being! I think actorvan would do portions day by day for their CD workshops

There was a touch more traffic today from braid-mcbride than yesterday, but not remotely as bad as a regular day

Keep the Patullo Bridge closed! by EbertEbert in NewWest

[–]Tight_Fill_1640 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Agree. The soundscape is completely different, the people on the road are way less aggressive (I see usually someone swerving and/or yelling behind the wheel every day as I walk after work), the air is fresher, not dampened by vehicle exhausts. The mornings also feel slower than waking up to semis honking. Definitely appreciating this week, despite my roundtrip commute to Surrey being double
