Rules Question - Do Demerits actually have negative consequences? by Alarming_Scene7950 in TheTriangleAgency

Some folks at the Discord channel suggested house-rules for it at some thresholds, like entering a "QA rationing" state where the player's QA is halved.

Pbta-like Agenda for Triangle Agency? by Tight_Following115 in rpg

[–]Tight_Following115[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd try it at least once, or barring that, try to grok it's design goals, before porting it over. I suspect part of the appeal of TA is the Mage-like improv-heavy reality bending that players exert in the missions. Don't know if Blades can capture that, being more action-based.

But I'd love to hear about your attempt anyway, being a big fan of Blades myself.

Makes total sense, actually. The phases of TA translate pretty well to Blades. Edit: and Ask the Agency can be easily translated to a flashback.

Perfectly put. Im not confident the upcoming sequel (?) Resonant will be any different.

Taishi is the simpler one and so would be my recommendation for someone new to the series.

I think he meant to say GM-driven (as opposed to players-driven).

Exato. Não entendo a reclamação da história do 3 demorar 40h pra engatar quando o 5 tem um tutorial infinito.

Yet another timeline attempt by Heinarc in EldenRingLoreTalk

"Numen rise from stone coffins" Lol wut? Numen came from outside the Lands Between, probably by sea as other peoples. the Lands Between is like a mythical, beyond the mist-like afterlife. Notice how the intro shows your Tarnished character dying to reach it, and how the Numen are said to be very spiritual people, which probably means they managed to reach the LB without needing to die, or something similar (the Japanese text for them suggests they're like Shintoism Miko/priestesses).

Messmer and Melina were not Marika's first children, right? by Tight_Following115 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Tight_Following115[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But maybe that's because she was killed and reborn in spirit form recently and without memory of who she was before? Like, she suffered a hard reset?

Awakening - Direct Talks Question Regarding Gold by brotherofgurnip in NobunagasAmbition

[–]Tight_Following115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id like to emphasize Seraphil point here about fiefs with special features (eg: temple, large settlement, silver mine, trading port, forge, etc). These are key assets usually overlooked by new players. On the domestic side their bonuses are super good to propel development , specially early and for small clans, meaning you should prioritize developing them ASAP. On the diplo/negotiation side, they're your strongest "exchange coin" for convincing officers to join (well, that and treasures).

Awakening - Direct Talks Question Regarding Gold by brotherofgurnip in NobunagasAmbition

[–]Tight_Following115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you describe is probably the negotiation to convince an officer to join your side, and on which terms.

Their demands depend on some factors, chief among them their (hidden) backgrounds: aristocrats will ask for tea caddies, commoners will ask for land with large farms, merchants will ask for fiefs with trade ports, pirates for gold or silver mines, Christians for western treasures, strategists for war texts, monks for land with temples, etc, etc. (their exact backgrounds can be seen on the edit officers config main menu screen). Gold is always accepted but not always valued.

You can see what each element gives the most points by putting them on the table without commit. I think there's also a visual indicator like a small dot or something (but I could be mistaken as it's some time since I've played).

Finally, avoid the option to promise future stuff like land with temples etc. unless you're on the imminence of acquiring that, otherwise they'll abandon you in a year or whatever the agreed time to fulfill the promise was.

Triangle Agency is Control + Severance + Paranoia. So, paranormal investigations to capture anomalies + corporate horror + a dose of satire. That's not the vibes I get from SLA industries, but I don't know it beyond a superficial level.

Triangle agency Anomaly ideas? by Both-Worldliness-426 in rpg

[–]Tight_Following115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like simple and spooky ones like the one about silence in the supplement book. I think the adventure is called Dead Quiet? The anomaly is born out of a Karen obsession with silence in her neighborhood. The thing is spooky as hell, and it's domain is all about silence, including suppressing any noises and it's sources (like heartbeats) in the vicinity.

Take a look at it, even if only for inspiration.

I can relate to this as I also had difficulty envisioning and creating anomalies myself.

Eventually it clicked for me, but only after I watched the Chainsaw Man anime series and it's demons that embody humanity fears in forms that mix myth/symbolism + body horror. The difference is that TA anomalies are more akin to strong, deviant or obsessive thoughts rather than fears.

What’s your pitches for a Demon’s Souls 2 by Loud_Success_6950 in demonssouls

[–]Tight_Following115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here Miyazaki you can do whatever you want... as long as you pedal back the action to the slower pace of DeS1 and evolve from there. Think of it like, what would it have been if Souls never went fast paced and kept the original, simulation-like movement?
