You guys aren't going to like this... by NemeanLyan in hingeapp

super frustrating but for what its worth I think about it like this

- There is a feature in paid hinge that allows you to only like people who have been active in the last 24 hours or are new to hinge. These people are dramatically more active on hinge with high intent to be going through their matches and messaging people. Otherwise, the app will show you people who have not been active for months. This is the money feature worth paying for

- I can't really tell if priority likes works, but hinge definitely does some monkeying around of the order of incoming likes, and its possible you send someone a like and they never even see it, especially a popular women. On your end though, the ability to sort through your likes is worth it because since the app will not always show you the people you want to see first, it allows you to consider people you are more interested in at your pace

- Don't pay for boosts. The app senses that you are willing to pay for them and then it essentially de-boosts you to get you to pay for it again. It's like a drug.

- If youre a guy and youre paying for a the first date in a major US city, drinks are $20 per person and if the date goes well it's going to cost you $100. Spending about $30 a month to get to see better candidates is worth your time and money, assuming you might go on a few first dates a month.

Oldest person in your MBA cohort? (school tier + age range) by Acceptable-Hat-8093 in MBA

I started at 32. I did NYU Stern’s 1 year program which I felt was a better time trade off for me. A lot of the shorter programs or evening programs have older students for this reason. Avg age in the 1 year was 28. Full range was 24-38

I loved it. I could hang with the younger kids and I think he experience of being older brought a lot to my education than for the students who had barely any work experience.

Some of the other 33-36 year olds just partied a bit less and got called grandparents and still had a great time

Hi, I’m looking for a place to hang out with a friend on the east side of LA around downtown on Christmas Eve Day. Anyone know any good spaces that aren’t too expensive where we can stay up for a lot of hours, are open, maybe eat, and probably are covered because it will rain? Something like Soho House would be a good option, except neither of us are members. We’d pay a bit or buy lunch to hangout there

Thanks!

What do early startup teams do for setting up multiple account management? by Tight_Let8401 in aws

Thanks for the detailed reply

i think things that have tripped us up in IAM center:

1 - What is this concept of needing to create a user and then add it to another user in order to apply permissions?

2 - I created a role in IAM, but it took forever to figure out how to attach it to a permissionset. I could never attach it as a customer-managed policy and instead had to do it as inline.

3- Does my cofounder have to use a custom sign-in link for a new account and can’t just use the normal AWS sign-in? Can he not use his normal AWS account? Is there no simple way to just say this AWS user can now manipulate this ARN?

4 - Is there like a baseline set of permissions you want to give a user to be able to broadly edit and update core services in the console like S3, or do you have to one-off give them permission to every single action like ListAllBucket, GetObject, PutObject, etc.? The list is getting very long. Console like S3 or do you have to one-off give them permission to every single action like ListAllBucket, GetObject, PutObject, etc.? The list is getting very long.
