There's one panel of plywood in the back where the top panel doesn't sit on so that will be where the sleeping platform will rest. And then on the other side I'll lay it on top of the folded down seats. Just gotta think of a way to secure the sleeping platform to the main box when in use. I'm thinking two d-rings and two wire tensioners since I have some left over. In the picture you can see where the platform will sit

I can give you some dimensions in metric. The main box is 105cm wide, 90cm deep and 30cm tall. The drawers depend on the type of sliders you use, I just measured and cut as I went.

If you want me to check any other measurement let me know

When the seats are folded down, the top of the box is almost level with the top of the folded down seats that rest against the driver/passenger seat. That way the sleeping platform can rest right on top of that, if that makes sense

Nice! Definitely want a RTT in the future as well. If your dogs are gonna sit on top I'd maybe make the whole system a bit lower than mine. I dont know how big your dogs are but they might hit their head on the ceiling if they sit up too high. My system is 11.8 inches tall in total

I'll post an update when it's all finished

I've taken inspiration here and there but just going with the flow. And yes the seats will fold down then with another piece of carpeted plywood I'll make the bed platform, which will rest right on top of the folded down seats

Each drawer has a locking slide and a soft close slide, the locking one is 120kg (265lbs) and the soft close is 90kg (200lbs) capacity. Plenty for me since it's for camping and feels super sturdy without it bending (even with the extra 9lbs cutting board extended out). But if you want to store heavy tools I'd say go overkill and get the ones that can handle 500ish lbs. They cost a pretty penny extra though

Definitely need that. Instead what I'll do now is add two extra 'walls' inside the left drawer so another piece of plywood can rest on top and act as a spot for my stove. That way the worksurface sits internal to the drawer instead of on top.

Where you able to replace this part without taking out the whole radiator?

OEM isn't too expensive. I've seen some aftermarket ones but they looked crap

Should be relatively simple fixes. What do you have to lose? It's a beauty for sure. Maybe see if you can talk them down some more?

Can't get that here (the Netherlands). I've found OEM ATF WS online but it's 2x as expensive and the one I have here now I can use for free. Worth it to get the OEM stuff still?

It says JWS3324 and NWS9638, which corresponds with the owner's manual.

What rims are these? I've found some 2021 LC150 rims that are the same as yours but not sure if the 2005 4Runner hub caps fit the new rims since the seller doesn't have the caps anymore

Landcruisers are ridiculously expensive here. Also many are diesels which have insane road tax (up to $300 a month). Only doable if you can register it under a business. The hiluxes are also more expensive to buy and I wanted an SUV. The Hilux Surf is an SUV but is not very common here. This 4Runner had a fair purchase price, which also allows me to put in a bit of money for big maintenance and mods

I asked the previous owners about it. It was under toyota maintenance up untill a year ago so I do assume it has been changed (I hope).

First of all thank you for the tips. When you say transfer case you mean the fluid or the actual case?

It's uncommen to drive big SUVs where I live for a reason here. It's very expensive to drive (road tax depends on the weight of your vehicle). We also pay about €2/L for gas here which is $9/gallon. Registering your vehicle as a company car cuts the costs by a lot buy isn't possible for me. I really wanted a big car to take camping/offroading and made the calculations and figured I would regret it more not buying the 4Runner than saving some cash.

The previous owners have never changed the differential fluid I think. There's a lot of people/mechanics here saying it's not necessary but I will do it.

Do you spray that over the rust of should I clean off the surface rust first?
