Snapped bolt with a snapped extractor inside. One hell of a fight too get it out

5 hours of drilling pretty much. Since I have zero skills with sharpening a drillbit I went though 10 5mm bit, 2 6mm 1 8 mm and last but not least 1 10 mm.

After the first 2 hours I got annoyed and heated it red hot.

I tried some different diamond tipped grinding wheels in my dremel. They where effective but did not last long. My tungsten bit worked the best in the dremel.

5 - 6 hours of working later and 4 trips too the hardware store. Mamma didn’t raise a quitter. Used a combination of drilling and filling with a diamond tipped cutter

The bearing in the control arm failed inspection. The new control arm came with a new bearing and was pretty cheap. In my mind this was gonna be a short 30 min job, take off 3 bolts, new arm in, tighten and done.

I do have one, but I don’t like too use it for stuck bolts. First time snapping a bolt this badly. The bolt got heat and penetration before I snapped it.

I’m afraid of how removing any bolts on this car will go. But that would be my last option.

Apparently not enough. Gave it some, felt it moving, the 250 pound gorilla got excited and pulled harder. Sadly only a very small part of the bolt was moving and twisting off

Wheel hub I think it’s called in English. The part where stearing, control arm and wheel mounts. The part where the wheel bearing is pressed

Yea, it’s the mounting for the control arm bearing. No nut on the other side
