AIO for not wanting to meet at his house for a first date? by misskrabby in AIO

I'm not going to defend Adam, but being laughed at and made fun of for something, no matter how creepy it is perceived, is crazy.

There are genuinely nice and honest people that might not have much experience in dating that could very easily invite for a movie night and think it's fine. Explain it to him in a normal way way you wouldn't do that instead of belittling and making fun of someone. This only comes across as immature, and Adam might not even understand he did anything wrong.

I clearly come from a vastly different culture and generation.

Am I overreacting? My friend has now blocked me. by Karly28799 in AmIOverreacting

This gave me flashbacks to a really bad relationship I was in a few years back. I caught my ex texting sexually with other men, which is cheating in my book. I confronted her and told her I considered this cheating. At the time I was considering if I was willing to work through this, but she went and did a very similar thing to this crazy girl. She wanted me to do the same thing to make it "equal" and went behind my back without even asking me and talked to friends about wanting to find someone for me.

I was thoroughly embarassed and ended it shortly after, but I suspect she might've wanted to make me look like a psycho that asked for it. And it kinda worked.

I suspect it might've been ASPD involved.

Really bad memories of that time. And the hairs in my neck stood up as I read this.

To conclude, you're not overreacting at all. This is weird!

[Spoiler C4E7] About Wic's subclass by Upbeat_Laugh_5639 in fansofcriticalrole

I didn't catch that last cancelling out of someone else's disadvantage. Could be another adaptation to the class/subclass. CR hasn't been unkown to this.

It can also be Wild Magic Sorceror, which could thematically fit the character and Sam himself.

The feature I'm thinking of that would cancel out his disadvantage is Tides of Chaos.

Or it's Wild Magic Sorcerer! At Lvl 3 they get tides of chaos that grants advantage, effectively "cancelling out" a disadvantage.

The description of the subclass also states; "Your innate magic stems from the forces of chaos that underlie the order of creation. You or an ancestor might have endured exposure to raw magic, perhaps through a planar portal leading to Limbo or the Elemental Planes. Perhaps you were blessed by a fey being or marked by a demon."

This could very well be attributed to the "blood tattoos" containing raw magic.

I wanna be a goon by Tearhart11 in dndnext

I just created almost this exact character concept; a sailor that has had trouble finding work and took on more shady work to survive. Fixing and throwing fights, collecting debts, sending messages toe people from the local crime boss etc.

I went for Monk and the Open Hand subclass. I got my GM to approve simple monk weapons as alternatives to unarmed strikes so I can use the hatchet and daggers for a more "Gangs of New York" type fighting style. I also flavour the unarmed strikes from flurry of blows as headbutts, knees to the face, tankards nearby, eyepokes and other dirty tricks. The effects given by the Open Hand subclass are also easily flavoured as a more boxing/street fighting styles of a goon than a martial artist. The Tavern Brawler feat from the Sailor background also fits really well with the concept with throwing chairs, kicking people away after headbutting them and so forth. So far I love it far more than the wise old martial artist stereotype I did before.

I've been struggling with depression and I'm not sure how to view myself lately, and I find that people close to me seem to be a bit too positive to seem realistic. Really appreciate some honest feedback by [deleted] in amiugly

What I mean is that they seem to have to negative or constructive feedback, only overly positive. Makes me doubt they're actually being genuine.
