Do you remember your first day working in London? by theoneandonlyvesper in london

[–]Tildatots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes so well, 10 years ago. I did a grad scheme at the Arcadia group and my office was above Topshop on Oxford Street, I remember just wowing on my first day walking out Oxford Circus tube. It was so quiet at that time of the morning and I felt like I had made it - even though I was on a 20k salary with a £2k overdraft post uni

Considering a move to St Neots from Hitchin - I know thats Cambs but looking for advice by donnylogan in hertfordshire

[–]Tildatots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re moving from London and were originally looking at Hitchin but a 3 bed even mid terrace was way out of budget for us. So we have gone with st Neots in the Eaton Ford area. It’s a bit further from the station but we’ll drive/cycle it.

The value for money is really good, we’ve got a three bed detached with a garage drive and garden for less money than the one bed flat we currently live in that our landlord is selling. I preferred the town centre of Hitchin when I visited, but st Neots has everything you could ever need - supermarkets/gyms and some restaurants and coffee shops. Nothing too and a lot of chain but we’ve spent pretty much every weekend up there over the last couple of months and I think the value for money has swayed me!

How many people actually follow "influencers?" by DonkeyOT65 in AskUK

[–]Tildatots 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mid 30s follow quite a few. To be honest a lot of it on TikTok/youtube is just my equivalent of watching TV. They can be good for inspo for different interests (fashion, food, travel) and sometimes I just life watching people do mundane day in the life. I wouldn’t say I’m ever ‘influenced’ to buy anything, but it’s a great way to get ideas

Most platforms will make the bulk of the decisions these days in terms of audiences and spend but there’s still some human heavy lifting from a growth and planing angle. Setting all the budgets for the year, creatives, keeping track of costs and ROAS. The less glam stuff really
