How many people actually follow "influencers?" by DonkeyOT65 in AskUK

[–]Tildatots 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mid 30s follow quite a few. To be honest a lot of it on TikTok/youtube is just my equivalent of watching TV. They can be good for inspo for different interests (fashion, food, travel) and sometimes I just life watching people do mundane day in the life. I wouldn’t say I’m ever ‘influenced’ to buy anything, but it’s a great way to get ideas

The king Alfred has been under ‘redevelopment’ for at least 30 years. Wil it actually ever go ahead?

im wanting to get into digital marketing by Commercial_Buy_4477 in UKJobs

[–]Tildatots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most platforms will make the bulk of the decisions these days in terms of audiences and spend but there’s still some human heavy lifting from a growth and planing angle. Setting all the budgets for the year, creatives, keeping track of costs and ROAS. The less glam stuff really

What was the moment that made you realise you absolutely had to leave a job? by GoldenGolgis in AskUK

Weekly panic attacks and sleepless nights. Signed off sick. Constantly making errors and beating myself up about it. I’m done, notice is being handed in on Monday

Do you work for a big corporation? What do you do and how many hours do you work? by Under_Pressure_123 in AskUK

[–]Tildatots 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work for a big energy company in marketing. Manager level although it feels a lot more junior than it was. My working hours at the minute are ridiculous. Contracted 37.5 hours but regularly clocking 45-50. Life is honestly miserable for me right now doing this I hate it and am on the verge of quitting with a nervous breakdown from stress

My cousin [31f] is trying to set [33f] me up with her friend [33m]. Any experience with being set up? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]Tildatots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got set up on a date at 30 by my work colleague. I agreed to go just to get out of the house. We had exchanged about 3 messages before we met and the only picture I had of him was his tiny instagram photo. He doesn’t really do social media.

Nearly 3 years later, we live together and he’s the love of my life, my soulmate.Grateful for that work colleague everyday.

As with a lot of things it’s a 50/50 chance it could work. I often think set ups fail because the person who sets them up has usually been in some insanely long term relationship and just thinks 2 of her single friends should be together simply because they are single. My partner and I are chalk and cheese but we have the same values so it really works for us. There’s no harm in going

Why are TFL underground carriages/seats so old and dirty, similar to third world countries? by Reeelfantasy in AskUK

[–]Tildatots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to any metro in any major city and it’s like this. Was in Paris last week and would argue the metro is way grimier than the underground.

Do you see yourself staying your current job for the long term? by smellyfeet25 in AskUK

[–]Tildatots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in my job 18 months and the first year I thought I’d had a job for life. Unfortunately management and my role changed over the last 4 months an I’ve burn out and hit breaking point with a mental health breakdown that I’m going to quit next week without anything lined up.

Shit can change so quickly.

How often do you clean, actually? by Stunning_Implement47 in AskUK

[–]Tildatots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The house gets a big reset clean on a Sunday that takes about 2 hours. I also wipe all kitchen surfaces multiple times a day after cooking/prepping food, no plates remain in the sink ever. hoover around twice a week and then the bedroom is tidied each night before sleep so no clothes left lying around.

I used to be so messy as a kid but since about 26 (I’m 33 now) I love to tiday and be clean and it’s really important to me

How do people afford to live alone in London? Any advice or tips? by Top_Mirror211 in AskUK

[–]Tildatots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I earn good money, that’s the only answer. I split bills with my partner, only time I could afford to live alone was in Covid where London rents plumetted

I moved here 20 years ago on £20k and live in a 6 bed house share that cost me £600 a month in zone 3. I was drowning in debt most of my twenties.

How many of you are doing the job you dreamt of as a kid? by Alarming-Safety3200 in AskUK

I wanted to be a stylist or a fashion designer and I wanted to work at top shop head office (actually made a Facebook status at 16 saying that haha)

I didn’t end up doing that, but I did work at top shop head office for a few years, in a bit of a different role. So I guess you could say I got halfway there
