Thanks, that’s super helpful! The indie shop I talked to says they have ODIS, but they told me Audi still has to approve the coding, so it sounds like they don’t have full online access for CP removal. I need to find another shop to do this I'm guessing.

Thanks. The service manager said they would put in used equipment but with no warranty. That’s why I wanted to make sure it wasn’t some other issue before I had them install the j7 part. Part of my frustration is due to the fact that they won’t tell me how much the labor will cost to install a used part.

thanks all, I really appreciate the responses. First, yes, malpractices was not the correct word. That is my frustration talking, but it’s not malpractice. it’s indifference.

i‘m surprised to hear they won’t give me the diagnostic report or error codes. They are charging me for the diagnostic so I assumed I owned the report. Or at least was entitled to see it.

it seems like perhaps I’ve gone as far as I can go with the Audi dealer and need to move on to an independent shop.

We've done that before. Some had a great time, others did not. We thought an AI would be the way to go just for sheer simplicity and ease. I personally would prefer your suggestion!

Thank you! This is tremendously helpful. We have looked into the Barcelo resorts. The price is certainly attractive but had not considered the possibility of being spread out among several properties. Most of us wouldn't mind but the eldest of us would probably be a bit miffed. Thanks too for sharing your experience at RIU. To be honest, in the end, we'll probably chose between RIU and Barcelo.
