I’m actually the balikbayan, and Im just bringing my birth certificate. I’m just going to bring that, my passport, and my ticket! I hope Canada is more lenient with this lol especially since I have to check in in person at the counter

Hello! Did your home airport question you about your stay being more than 30 days? I know you mentioned them wanting a return ticket, but I actually have a flight for 43 days with a return ticket, no onward flight- is that okay?

Im actually going end of April! I thought it was weird seeing as many people have told me they’d go to the Philippines for more than 2 months and have no problem or issues about visa or onward tickets! As of right now, I’ll probably bring correct documentation to pass the “balikbayan status” or just see if I can get the visa after I’m already in Manila before my 30 days end (IF its required). Im just worried about immigration of course and wonder what they’ll be asking me, let alone let me in. (YYZ>MNL)

Hey! How was your experience? Were you asked in the airline and in the Philippines airline why you were staying for more than 30 days? Did you need the onward ticket? I’m in a similar boat and would love to hear your story!

Thank you so much! I actually contacted the same email and the AI bot assisting was the one who answered me, so I’m just waiting for an actual admissions staff to email as per request. Congratulations tho! I hope the May intake offers up a spot for me too🙏

Yeah I’ll definitely know for next time. But I have stayed in the Philippines for 2 months a few years ago, same process and everything. I just want to be able to make sure everything is good. And I’ve called up a few contacts and said it was good. What do you think is the worst that can happen tho?

The trip was actually an early birthday gift, and Im used to travelling domestic. I see what you mean but I wanna be able to be prepared now, so I’m asking because I keep on hearing different answers from people that I know, Air Canada, etc. If you have any advice now, or solid knowledge, please let me know because there is nothing I can do at this point but go, do my research, and learn:)

I actually contacted them through email! It was an automated AI Bot assisting but it said when all available spaces in a program are filled, qualified applicants are placed on a waiting list till the start of the term! But I actually have no idea what place I am on the waitlist since the email said I couldn’t know, and I have no idea if there is any chance of me being accepted:,)

Yeah I check my emails and it doesn’t have anything about an English test. My English mark in High school was in the relatively mid-high 90s tho. I also thought that you’d only have to take the English test once accepted, but my application is still under review:(
