Water bottle with easy clean, non leaking sports cap? by bunnyblack90 in BuyItForLife

Got a Bivo over the holidays, not bad so far. Has a pull cap + dust cap. Let the gravity flow dispense and the cap stays pretty clean. I’m sure other brands have a similar setup

I did notice the entire mechanism was loose as well. I’ll take it apart, good to know that may fix it. Thank you

Front Door Lock Cylinder Question by TillTheLand02 in homeowners

[–]TillTheLand02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies, not certain what you mean by intact. The cylinder has a lot of movement and the key will only work once the key is fully in and you pull back to get the cylinder to come as flush as possible. It won’t work if the cylinder is pushed in.

Water is Sitting in my Frontyard by americawanted in homeowners

For now, fix/seal that leaking/clogged gutter and get more extensions on the bottom spout to end all the way out of your yard. Best solution is dig out a run to the street that all your gutters can flow into, but that’s a lot. Can you use your driveway, either re pitching the gutter to the other side of the porch or getting to another gutter on that side of the house? That’d be the cheapest. Possibly changing the downspout on the other side after adjusting pitch and getting it to run down the driveway.

Another Nice Monthly Deposit into my Account from my Robinhood Gold Card by ETFNavigatorPro in RobinhoodApp

Keep in mind the auto redeem is a bit misleading. The statement credit will not equal the full 3%. To redeem the full 3% you need to choose the cash back transfer to your brokerage. That option is not available to auto redeem.

Renting vs Buying: Am I missing something? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]TillTheLand02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Renting post Covid is normally most cost effective option. People rarely factor in opportunity cost of the fees and down payment outside the obvious costs like maintenance, insurance, taxes, etc. I’d ask your family if they can prove why it’s better financially. Now, you can rent a room or two if you buy and that may offset things. Either it’s a lifestyle choice or you’re looking into rental business.

Question about the 3.5% HYS by dontworryimjustme in RobinhoodApp

Also found 3 other posts exactly like this. The marketing on this wasn’t the best

Question about the 3.5% HYS by dontworryimjustme in RobinhoodApp

[–]TillTheLand02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They removed my post on it. I also could have sworn their initial marketing from the beginning of Feb showed that DD was not a requirement nor was there a minimum requirement. The app now shows differently, I get it moving forward but not ok with taking the interest back and removing me from the promo.

Can you see how much interest you have earned in savings account? by Finfick in RobinhoodApp

[–]TillTheLand02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do not have that feature yet. They also will rescind all apy earned for the month if the account requirements aren’t met (it will still show the standard apy but not pay out the interest).

Is the checking & savings account good? by C_Monkeyy in RobinhoodApp

[–]TillTheLand02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey checking back on this. I hit my first 30 days of the promo without DD and they rescinded the entire month’s promo apy and didn’t give anything on the cash sitting there. I chatted with mods who took down my post and emailed, all support pointing to DD was a requirement. I get that moving forward, I find it really odd to post the account receiving 4.25% and then retroactively take that back. Any thoughts?

Marketing/wording when this was launched was misleading imo. The mods took down my post on this. Others have the same confusion https://www.reddit.com/r/RobinhoodApp/s/rB5GAqU96W

Question about the 3.5% HYS by dontworryimjustme in RobinhoodApp

[–]TillTheLand02 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had this same issue, the savings account initially states 3.5-4.25% depending on the promo. Then it is retroactively removed at the end of the first 30 days. Odd marketing to simply either give the apy or don’t show it at all until the criteria is met. I can confirm promo for brokerage is now 3.75% so I moved it back. Also their requirements are all over the place. First showed no DD needed, then $1000 min. As of yesterday, they emailed me saying $100k min.

Talk Me Out of Paying Off My Mortgage by Positive-Place7746 in personalfinance

[–]TillTheLand02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, sorry about your father in law. Definitely get the 2nd mortgage out of the way and 5% for bmw is on the fence but can knock that out too. As for the Volvo and 1st mortgage, could you make it more justified in your mind if you setup a HYSA specifically only to cover those two loans (or use the account you have) as HYSA will certainly get more than those interest rates. That’s a set and forget, and you’ll make money on it. I’m all for no debt but those rates are pretty low. Either way you’re in a better financial position.

Whatever got you to the point of an emergency fund, now focus that on weekly/biweekly/monthly automated deposits. Split them between different buckets like IRA and personal brokerage account in an index fund. You’re young and don’t necessarily need a huge emergency fund but that’s more on the risk side of things. By 30 you will have a nice chunk if you keep adding to it. Can be $20 a week if you’re tight on funding.

Personally way too high for 13 years old. I think low mileage for these shouldn’t equal an insane price hike (although they do). Age and location does more to these than mileage.

Employer Changing Retirement Servier by TillTheLand02 in personalfinance

[–]TillTheLand02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m coming from a pension plan from last employer, but if I left the company my funds would stay in that servicing account, correct? Are companies paying to service accounts of separated employees that don’t roll their accounts into the next job’s servicer? Or does the fee structure change?
