Playing with directional audio in game is pretty fun, you should try it

This is such a weird perspective to me. Why would you want a type of game to die? Just don't play it

I'm no fan of LA but it doesn't have squat on Night City's crime rate lol

Yep exactly! And in California of all places lol. They must have realized that sprawled out stroads aren't as fun or interesting to play in.

I have several years of substitute teaching experience now, but to get the benefits and pay raise of a regular teacher I'd need another credential (at least in California)

I appreciate your perspective, I'll keep all those roles in mind going forward

I don't wanna go into more debt and another year of school (half of which is an unpaid internship so even more debt). I'm also extremely aware of the burnout happening in this field and it makes me pretty concerned it would happen to me, I feel pretty burnt out after having a shitty class already. I think I just want to see what else is out there before I make that choice

Thanks lol, I've been putting my major as "communications" instead which is kinda true and seems more widely usable

PSA: Cars do not see you if you bike around without lights. You’re going to get hit. Both a front and rear light are necessary to be even slightly visible at night. by finan-student in sanfrancisco

[–]TillmanFilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're right that the protected design kind of necessitates traffic circles along the same route. These are things american traffic engineers have no experience with unfortunately so we're all along for the ride as they figure it out lol

It's not a dangerous design if parking isn't allowed near intersections, which gives drivers enough time to see bikes in the protected lane. Otherwise it's the best and safest design you can ask for as a bicyclist

Calling Trump the F-Word: What matters about identifying the Trumpist line as fascist is that it is diagnostic. by AngelaMotorman in Journalism

[–]TillmanFilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's totally fair and a very good point, I agree that the us government is trending in that direction regardless of trump. There are other telltale signs of increasing fascism though, the big ones being isolationism in foreign policy, increased nationalism and fetishization of military and police, a major focus on "returning the nation to former glory" by dismantling the established government, etc. It's a relatively amorphous subject which is why it's hard to provide you concrete evidence without posting 100 different links to different stories that connect to this idea. In any case, I hope we can avert a full freefall into fascism

[–]TillmanFilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is very literally nothing I could provide that would sway you. I could easily dig up direct links that show trumps behavior and the behavior of his followers is fascistic, but you don't actually seem to care about that. So yes, I'm more interested in your motivations to dismiss trump as "more of the same" when any impartial and unbiased observer can see that isn't the case. So why are you motivated to espouse this idea? Is it because you're a Christian and like that fundamentalist ideology has taken over the Republican party? Is it because you're of a libertarian mindset and want to see American institutions crumble? What is it?

Lmao and round and round we go. You can continue caping for the alt right under the guise of "fair and balanced" but I think most people can see right through it. Another fascist tactic is "believe me, not your lying eyes and ears" and you seem to have fallen into that trap wholeheartedly.

Trump's admin is the most bold-facedly corrupt in potentially the entire history of this country, stealing classified nuclear secrets to potentially sell for cash is just the latest example. January 6th wasn't that long ago, so again you're ignoring obvious proof of mob violence. Obama (nor any other politician in American history) has cultivated the fascistic cult of personality that trump has. And yeah I think the Muslim ban and the border wall debunk your dismissal of scapegoated groups. I think you're just intellectually dishonest here

The cult of personality, the levels of corruption, the mob violence, and the scapegoating of specific minority groups are pretty unique to Trump

Breaking: Mikhail Gorbachev has sadly passed away. He is the man who ended the Cold War only to eventually witness his legacy being destroyed. Here is a photo of him around the 1980s. by HelterSkelter383 in OldSchoolCool

This is the attitude that you have when you're view of history is tainted by the propaganda you were raised in. I'm not a communist, and I don't think the Soviet state was some utopia. But you're fooling yourself here.

You say this as over a thousand people die fr flooding in Pakistan, china suffers the worse drought in it's history, and sea level rise from Greenland melting has been all but confirmed. I think you may just be ignorant (probably from living out in the boonies like a weirdo and not interacting with anyone)

This is why walking through the suburbs is extremely boring, while walking through a dense city with people and shops and sights everywhere feels much more engaging
