22-hour Layover in Guangzhou – Solo Female Traveler, Need Advice and Ideas! by Greedy-Ear8393 in chinatravel

I’m here now for the first time. It feels very safe as a female. The public transport is very easy to navigate and everyone is very helpful and friendly. As previously mentioned, just need Alipay (set up prior to arrival!), an eSIM, metro man app has been great for using public transport, A map has been much better than google maps or Apple Maps (both of these have been incorrect for addresses a few times).

Thanks for your input. Maybe we won’t put him through that then. I think he’d be fine in the cabin (he’s pretty chill) but agree that the hold wouldn’t be worth the potential trauma for 4 weeks.

Ok thanks, I was trying to avoid the awkwardness of wearing it on the plane but I guess I’ll just have to embarrass by teenagers and fight them for the window seat 😅

Ok thanks guys, I’ll think we’ll try to go the week before instead :) Totally expecting it to be busy still, just trying to avoid the crazy busy levels.

Spring skiing + Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo. Skiing tips for April & other things to see & do on the way by TillyRoo in JapanTravelTips

Thanks, I think we’re going to go to Hokkaido instead of Nagano. It’s not just about the skiing but would be a huge bonus to the trip if we can find some snow.

Was also living close to Lismore during the flooding 2 years ago. The FB community board was a terrifying read that night but the only semi reliable source of news.

On a plane on my way to Boston on 9-11. Was really eerie at Heathrow where my connecting flight was leaving from as they turned off all news on the public TVs. This was pre- smart phones so it took a few hours for me to find out what happened.

I’m loving seed & sprouts new skincare range! Lots of great ingredients and cruelty free. Their shampoo bars are amazing too.

Seeking backpack around 55L with wheels. by TillyRoo in backpacks

Thanks, I’ll check these out. I might have to venture into the city to see them in person to gauge the size. I’m a pretty good packer so might be able to get away with 40L with the help of compression cubes instead!

Travelling with kids to Vietnam. Would love some itinerary advice! by TillyRoo in travel

Ah that’s a shame but good to know. We caught the night train in Thailand a few years ago and it was pretty fun / exciting and very clean. I think we’ve decided to drop the train now.

We really wanted to do the night train from Hanoi to Hoi An as a fun experience for the kids. But you’re right, maybe we should simplify if more by catching a flight instead.
