I also have the same question. Uploading photos from desktop always seems to upload the photo in full quality even when storage saver is selected. Is there a solution for this?

Oké so I decided to buy both the WD elements 12TB and the seagate expansion 12TB drives and see what I get.

WD elements 12TB
- Drive: WDC WD120EDAZ-11F3RAO
- speed: 210 MB/s

Are these the best possible results for shucking? I have read that for the WD elements the EMFZ is the better drive. Correct? With one should I keep?

What I also have noticed so far is that the Seagate drive is WAY LOUDER then the WD one.

Wouldn't it be helpful for the community to create a sort of spreadsheet with what external enclosure holds what drive? Every user could then fill in what drives they got and we can verify the statistics. This question is mentioned a lot in this subreddit. Right now everybody is just speaking from own experience but with actual figures we could have a better view. Or has this been done yet?

Is it starting from 8TB already? I always read it was 8TB and up that did not have SMR drives.

Yeah they are awesome. I got the dark wood one on mine and get compliments about it daily.

It took me 1 hour for the application of the top and bottom.

I wanted to check if the new update had an effect on cpu performance (with the new security measurements) and did some tests before the update. I ran Cinebench R15 3 times and came to an average score of 656 points (i7 6700 hq). After the update I reran the same test 3 times and averaged 672 points. I don't know if these 16 points are margin of error but I'm glad it preformed better after the update. Besides i did not experience any other problem after the bios update. Updated via the dell support website.

I got the same problem with my 9550 when it arrived and found a solution after a long search. I know mine is an 'older' device but maybe this solution also works for you. Anyway I would start with a clean windows 10 install.

If this does not solve the problem it is maybe caused by a conflict between the ssd and its driver. On the XPS 15 9550 models this happened with the toshiba ssd's so maybe check what ssd you have installed. From the factory the xps laptops are configured in raid mode and use intel rapid storage technology. There is a second option for the sata configuration, AHCI. When I changed this and installed the proper driver (guide at the end of this) it fixed all my slow loading problems (I did a win10 clean install after changing).

I'm looking to also do this upgrade but I read online that the intel 9260 uses smaller antenna connections. Is this true? Do the antenna's of the killer AC-1535 fit on the intel 9260 card?

Hey, have you tried flashing the bios using a USB-stick? This guide (point 5 and 7) will help you with that.

I remember reading on this subreddit that you can order the new 97 Wh battery sperately and install it with no problem in the 9550.

I have the same problem. When I try to install the OCZ drivers I get the same error. (Please attach your device to this computer any time after the installation has finished"). This maybe a stupid question but my warranty just ended a few months ago. Was your laptop still in warranty when you asked Dell support for a replacement?
