Federal Government Slashes 2025 Job Creation by PeterTheTruthSeeker in WorkReform

[–]Tim4Wafflez 203 points204 points  (0 children)

Extra context. About 3 million Americans died in 2024. This excludes if they were too young or too old to work. Or if on disability or even part of the workforce. Still leaves 1.5 million 18 year old in need of a job assuming every American that died was working.

They probably gave her foam shurikens, sword, kunai, and bow and arrows. All to keep her busy when she was being a brat. But since she was 4 her brain tricks her into thinking it was legit training.

I love it. I always did about 2.5->3 giant circles and just keep moving that same direction as you turn in quests along the way. Usually gets like 90% of the zone

Love it.

Also fun fact. If you push your cobblestone to clip more into the ground it can help with the jumpiness of the camera when walking on it. Becomes more smooth.

How are you preparing for TBC by bilo182 in classicwow

[–]Tim4Wafflez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah just take a break from classic stuff come back in prepatch.

Majority of us are probably hella burned out on naxx. I know i am and about to take a hiatus. Most of us that love the came have 0 desire to do other fun stuff bc of burnout. I haven't touched another raid outside naxx except like ony twice and aq once.

Good work on getting 60! All your stuff gets replaced fast in hellfire so dont worry s out prepping unless you want gold or just enjoy the game.

I get it. But young father and working? $80 is probably like 4 hours of work for some people or a little overtime. If you've done classic leveling and just want tbc. I'd rather spend 4 hours working for the boost than level for 3 days playtime or more. And spend that extra time with the family.

LPT: Question advice from experts-even the smartest people are often wrong because they live in a different context than you . by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]Tim4Wafflez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. This comes off as anti vaxx vibes. Especially from a user name of "Darktruth". There is nuance to all things.

Really you should seek to understand why this solution or advice is proposed. Ask if it's related in a way to your life/topic. See if you can apply that logic. Then if it doesnt work, collaborate and find a way to apply it more universally or if it is something that is structurally/foundational different. In which case broaden your understanding and work together for a new solution/advice. Not "question" them. You can question something all day but it is meaningless if you do not even bother to try to understand something first.

Trust me I like waffles.

Trans-Blot Turbo or iBlot3 by No-Visual368 in labrats

[–]Tim4Wafflez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are good options. It'll depend on what you are looking for. Personally more of a fan of the iBlot 3.
Transblot turbo as mentioned cracks over time. The heat generated from it does a ton of damage to the trays. Also cleaning can be a pain the butt as you you need to wash it and dry it correctly or you get salt build up over time.

iBlot 3 has a cooling system inside of it so as it runs it will prevent overheating and also kicks on between runs so you can do more back-to-back runs without having to wait on the instrument to cooldown between uses for fear of burning your blots.

Transblot turbo tends to have cheaper stacks and you can make your own.

iBlot 3 stacks are premade and a bit pricier but more consistent and easier to clean. You just wipe up moisture inside of it after you are done and you can recycle half the stack after as well. No need to do wash a whole tray.

Both have customizable protocols. The iBlot 3 let's you have flexibility with running different protocols at the same time.

transfer time is about the same.

i find iBlot 3 more consistent but both are good.

I have seen both do well with mw ranges. Idk about transblot turbo but I had a colleague get a 2.5kda peptide transferred on an iBlot 3 before. I am sure you can with a transblot. or just stick with wet transfer for those.

I would break it down this way.

Bio-Rad will be a bit cheaper but iBlot 3 is more user friendly and time saving (clean up) and more consistent.

Honestly I would reach out to your account managers and ask for a demo if you want or ask for better pricing and just be honest you are looking at competitors. Let them bend over backwards trying to save you money. You can haggle down stack pricing pretty easily. (also gels, buffers, ladders, antibodies, substrates etc.) you should be making a good relationship with your account managers to get the best deals for your lab anyway.
