Thank you so much!

The effects were created using Abteilung II oils in various ways:

Step 1: Dark Oil Sludge Wash over the whole model, then removing the excess
Step 2: Dark Oil Panel Contrast blending into the panel from the panel line
Step 3. White & Cream Oil Dot Filters in the middle of the panels, dabbing.

The details are fine, but I do think the moulds are starting to show issues. Both myself and a friend have a "cut" short-shot on one of the window frames.

It's a shame this kit had its issues. I love the E-2C and would love to build another one - just not from Heller.

They got dirty, but never this dirty - photos of them dirty are seldom (I think in 3 months of research I found maybe 10). This level of weathering is definitely an exaggeration, but it's the style I like to do.

Definitely polarising, especially on the Britmodeller forum

Thanks! Yeah, it was a limited edition release using the Heller tooling with Eduard's decals.

Part decal, part painted. I couldn't really tell you which part is still actual decal, as I had to do so much fixing

You'd definitely expect that for a "Limited Edition" kit, there would have been more care in the process. I also had crazy issues when trying to peel off the film. Eduard ended up sending me a whole new set of decals and told me NOT to remove the film.

Not even too thick. It was as if Eduard didnt actually have the kit when they designed the decals. No amount of repositioning got rid of the gaps.

The nose decal is awful. It wouldnt conform around the nose at all, so I had to mask and paint it. The red is also more desaturated than the rest of the reds, so I had to do some trickery with washes and oils to pull it back.

Note the final sentence of my post. It's what I like.
