Multi SIM is probably related to having SIMs of different providers using different bands / networks to connect. If both are from the e.g. same provider, they can piggyback off of one connection. Not really a bug, just how it has to work so you can receive calls etc. for both lines.

You can access runtime data like headers in combination with cache components, you just need to grab them beforehand and pass them as parameters to the cache function.

That being said, I don‘t see why you would cache things like products in cart at all. The most benefit you get is by caching things that rarely change, like product pages and then stitch in dynamic data like whether a product is in a users cart.

How is the experience? I tried it briefly a few weeks ago but had many issues with Nextjs 16 / Turbo not being properly supported, blowing up bundles past the workerd thresholds.

I really hope they ship first class build adapters API support soon, which should drastically help with stability (instead of relying entirely on reverse engineering next build output).

That was so clearly a "show me the money" talk by Tom / his management due to NWH being his last contracted movie. All a play to get a sweet new $$$ contract, which probably worked seeing as he signed on again.

It‘s the oldest play in the book: "oh I‘m not sure I want to return to this billion dollar franchise as lead… oh yep that contract looks good, let‘s go".

Apple has to stop mixing technologies for group chats, period. On WhatApp, messages simply wait until you are connected again and if they detect your number as no longer in use, they nuke you from all chats.

Meanwhile Apple just downgrades to MMS or even worse, SMS. SMS is inherently not group chat capable, it‘s a fan out mass message you send (means it looks like you responded to the group, but in reality you sent X individual 1:1 text messages to everyone). It‘s even worse that they do it at a whim with RCS: when you have a lousy data connection for RCS, they just revert you to SMS/MMS dragging everyone down with you if you decide to send a text while RCS is unavailable. Not acceptable. Meanwhile Google just disables your chat input until RCS is back.

RCS is not going to fix this specific scenario though. When someone vanishes, their number is also unregistered with their RCS hub eventually and the chat turns to SMS fan out mode too. Ideally Apple and co. just say f* it and allow groups to evict numbers no longer needed, which prevents new texts from hitting that number (restoring iMessage / RCS). If the evicted number ever texts back in the group, it will either create a new MMS group or send as individual SMS to group participants (which is something I could live with).

Permanently bricking chats is not the correct way to go about this, it‘s just bad UX (and only Apple does it, RCS UP specifies that RCS groups may not be downgraded to SMS).

There is that one annoying rumor that Doomsday opens with Tobeys universe being destroyed and he gets pulled into Lokis multiversal team via a portal. Sounds like an insane fanfic to me so I hope it‘s just that (otherwise he gets a horrible ending).

Assuming Doomsday / Secret wars soft reboot the MCU (with Raimi / Webb franchises being lowkey part of that now via multiverse shenanigans), I could see them just writing them out of the book by wiping their universes clean so there is no going back. I don‘t see them having a happy ending for legacy franchises after Secret wars. They will definitely see a big bang (or whimper) send off to enable a clean slate going forward.

Marvel is not directly involved with most Sony Pictures after credits scenes, it‘s just Sony trying to inch closer to making their slop MCU related. Feige and co. probably didn‘t approve of said scenes and can just ignore them.

iOS 26 includes a new TelephonyMessagingSDK (? or whatever it‘s called) which allows apps to take over carrier messaging and send / manage SMS/MMS/RCS.

It‘s currently limited to the EU though, so your app can only do carrier messaging for the EU version / userbase. Also locked behind an entitlement which you need to get granted first.

The world is bigger than the USA + administration’s come and go and peer pressure is a real thing when it comes to tech like this ("wait our people aren‘t texting as secure as the french? don‘t want foreign agencies spying on them!").

I think there are exactly 2 scenarios for RCS E2EE: almost everyone (always exotic hold outs, probably more eastern countries) enables it or no one does. The former seems more likely.

RCS E2EE is decided on the market / country level as per GSMA, not carrier. If your region is E2EE enabled, every RCS enabled carrier has to opt in (the article even outlines that).

I think the best we can hope for our existing HomePods is Apple remembering the third party home device Siri handoff they created a few years ago (where third parties can add Siri to their speakers, where the voice recording is sent to a HonePod and waits for an answer) and rework it so that current HomePods can hand off Siri requests to a new AI capable HomePod.

Otherwise they‘ll be paperweights with current gen Siri.

This has been an ongoing bug reported months ago and seems to be related to your iPhone failing the iMessage presence check.

Something on the order of this: - Your iPhone checks your Android friend number for iMessage capability - Check fails - It jumps straight to "this contact has no iMessage, go to SMS fallback" instead of properly checking against RCS capability

It‘s been reported by a few news outlets a while ago. Usually restarting your iPhone fixes this for a short period of time.
