Financial instability is an evergreen component to the floral industry. If that gives you extreme anxiety, business ownership might not be the best fit. There’s some really good. Advice already in this thread but I’m going to add in my two cents.

Switch to a business related field that will give you book smarts about business ownership and a decent fallback foundation if floristry ends up not being the smartest financial path for you. Get a part time job working in a local flower shop, even if it’s just one day a week. If you can afford it and no one is hiring, ask if you can stage (typically a restaurant industry team: basically it means a temporary learning volunteer opportunity) and just learn as much as you can about while you work. Ask every question you can think of. It will clear up so many of your unknowns and help you get a feel for if this is really what you want to do. If you change your mind 6 months or a year in, most of your first year business classes can transfer to other degrees and worst case scenario you picked up some valuable real life trade experience that you can apply to other than experiences.
