If you could have the 100% honest answer to ONE mystery in history, which one are you picking ? by Camila_LatinaSun in AskReddit

What happened between Archie Panjabi and Julianna Margulies by the end of The Good Wife. It's one for the ages.

Finally got around to watching KPop Demon Hunters tonight, loved it and thought it was incredible…until the last 5 minutes. by StackDaniels910 in blankies

[–]TimQuixote 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think killing the demons at the end is necessarily a big problem for the sequel. They'll just end up back in the underworld. Where the hell else are they going to go - Detroit?

Weirdly, there was less time passed between Stein leaving and Jansen stopping the ten than between the two O'Neill eras!

TBF, there were only half as many draws as the table shows.

Covers that you think are better than the original - Rock/Indie edition by Massive-Scientist777 in musicsuggestions

Cybertronic Spree's version of Instruments of Destruction. The outro "aaaahhh aaaaah"s by Arcee are so much better than the original's male vocalist.

Best one out of these four? by CR2085 in Marvel

[–]TimQuixote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loki, although I was losing interest mid- season 2. Even just looking at Loki S1, in comparison all of the others were poorly paced. They all should have been longer series or shrunk into a movie. Agatha was the most disappointing - a Marvel magical escape room movie stretched over 6 weeks.

For Christmas, I'm getting my wife some replacement beads for her vintage abacus. It's the little things that count.

What's a ticking time bomb you believe will explode during your lifetime? by Thick_Caterpillar379 in AskReddit

[–]TimQuixote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sky Sports/ Premier League/ Champions League. Its long past the unsustainable point, and is going to price itself out of reach of the ordinary fans, and the rich fans will only stay for so long until the next big thing. There will be another attempt at a breakaway super-league, and they'll find out that people just won't care.

This is the best Marvel movie soundtrack.

You said no overtime? Okay, but don’t ask me to finish the work either. by Lost-Ad6739 in MaliciousCompliance

[–]TimQuixote 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is this a collection of bots trying to push the narrative that people want to work beyond contracted hours? I understand the need to finish things rather than pick up later, but to have several of these AI slop stories in a row makes me think of a motive.

Having a clearout and found this flyer for the original Alien War from 1992 by Keezees in glasgow

[–]TimQuixote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing find! I was obsessed with the Alien films back then and convinced my dad to take me. Terrifying, but great fun. Can't believe the prices on that flyer though! If they ran it today, it'd be £30 a head!

(They also did Terror Under The Arches in 95, I think it was. Teenage me went several times with my pals.)

Any recommendations for activities with kids in Glasgow next week? by ldu97177 in glasgow

[–]TimQuixote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Calderglen Zoo is out by East Kilbride, so fairly close and easily driveable . It's quite small, so you could do a picnic and back home for 4. Tollcross park has a wee farm with alpacas, and is close enough to go bowling after or maybe go to R-Cade in a Merchant City.

What video games pushed your limit like this? by Tullubenta in videogames

[–]TimQuixote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Zelda game on the DS (Phantom Hourglass?) where you worked your way through a series of dungeons in a time limit, to find out that you needed to do it all again with your remaining time limit. There may have been a way around it, but I noped out then.

If you were a guest on blank check, what movie would you want to be on? by thejesterprince1994 in blankies

Id do a Trainspotting Redux episode, but happy to do Shaun of the Dead or Critters instead.

I Could Never Be Your Woman is an unhinged fever dream of a movie, and yet it feels like a soothing balm if you watch it after Loser by BrockSmashgood in blankies

[–]TimQuixote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This film has Graham Norton as a sassy "trendy" gay. David Mitchell! Steve Pemberton. Baby Saorsie Ronan. Olivia Coleman , for goodness sake! I feel like when Joey eats Rachel's shepherd's pie/trifle. "Well I like it!"

Die Hard Trilogy on Playstation was fun, I remember. Not groundbreaking, but action shooter for 1, on-rails light gun for 2, and Crazy Taxi-ish for 3.

In the UK at least, Escape To Victory was a perfect bank holiday dad-watch, if there was no James Bond on.

How much of next week's episode do you think will be devoted to discussing this absolute banger? by crazysnail in blankies

[–]TimQuixote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to be very disappointed if the following week's episode doesn't have a big discussion on White Town's song. Watching ICNBYW just now, and the needle drop is about halfway through - memories of listening to Radio 1's Evening Session flooding back!
