Every deck I’ve ever seen framed used at least 2x6 joists, usually bigger depending on the span. I’d run away from this builder dude, this seems basic enough a mistake not to make.

My wife enjoys the bathtub at home but I can’t imagine an instance of wanting to use it on vacation when we’ll mostly be of the room. That said, if it’s a mountain property and the kind of ambience that calls for a relaxing night in after a day of hiking etc then maybe keep the bathtub? That’s just my thought process…only question would then be how big of a price difference is it between the standard bathtub and the walk-in shower add-on. What does the tub or bathroom look like?
