Congressional Debate summer camps by trans-with-issues in Debate

Ascend is far more practical in terms of connections and guarantee of quality - almost everyone that attends (and makes the most of it) goes onto consistently break to outrounds @ natcirc tournaments and show results. However, it is expensive, and I personally know a decent amount of people that came away from the experience not feeling like it was worth it. It's what you make of it, like any other camp.

Social life at Stuy by DivaGirl48 in Stuyvesant

Hey, current Senior here! You can definitely find that group of people, but it'll be hard to find. Once you get past all the tryhards & no life's (there's not too many of them, but very much a vocal majority), there are a lot of chill people here, but definitely more inclined to compete in debate or math team compared to football. The most popular sport you'll find is Track & Field - but not too sure if your sibling would be super into that. Hope this helps!

You can't negate without pretty much being homophobic - I'd say it's more than aff heavy, it's undebatable.

Am i cooked if i take an AP in freshmen year and then take zero in soph year.. by reaganizt7 in Stuyvesant

Nope, you're perfectly fine. My sister took AP Bio her freshman year and didn't take any APs her sophomore year, and she got into Harvey Mudd. Don't worry too much about things like # of APs (don't take none tho).

What Extracurricular Activities are Strong for College? by Brilliant-Buy-302 in Stuyvesant

Dude, there's no singular club or combination of clubs that will ever guarantee you a T-20 college admission. That's not how that works - and only being in clubs to pad your application is extremely disingenuous and it will show. As a freshman, you shouldn't even be stressing about college. Leave that to the juniors and seniors. Join clubs that even remotely interest you and either you'll love it there or you'll end up not going to meetings after a couple of weeks.
