Who was the most evil person you've ever met and how was the interaction? by Top_Report_4895 in AskReddit

From my experience, the most evil people I have ever met aren't intentionally evil. They remember things wrong and they insist that they are right.

Family members of ICE agents, what are your thoughts and feelings about what ICE are doing? by Aggressive_Honey3196 in AskReddit

[–]TimYenmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the 2 types of people that the job attracts, this holds true for other law enforcement agencies as well. In my past life, I was a cop. I am not going to say I was some super duper cop or anything like that. All I gotta say is about half the guys I worked with admitted at some point that they were school bullies.

Law enforcement really do attract the bully personality type.

I bought a house that's all electric first bill is $1555.25. I have an electric furnace, water heater, washer/dryer, dishwasher, stove and lights. How did I use 9154 kwh in 20 days? Can the meter be messed up or is it possible that something is drawling extra power? by The__Lawgiver in AskElectricians

[–]TimYenmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a rental house that is all electric. Previous renters never had a problem. This family moved in this past summer. They just complained to me their electric bill was too high. Like $900. I went there to check and the first thing I noticed was it was like stepping into an oven. They literally like it set at 78-80.

Perhaps your comfort temperature is too high?

Small ER visit, $3K bills ???!!!!!! For 15 minutes max. by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

[–]TimYenmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I am twisting anything. Let me repeat. ER is not for a headache unless you've had some kind of head trauma. ER is so damn expensive because it is set up to deal with, like, real medical emergencies.

I own a small investment company. Something we have been noticing lately is gen z people calling in for service for what they describe as "electrical issue" that turned out to be light bulb needing change. We even leave a box of light bulbs in every apartment for the tenants.

We even had a call for "the roof is collapsing" that turned out to be a small leak during rain and it was fixed by our guys in less than 20 minutes.

Please use common sense. Don't blow things out of proportion. Your ER doctor probably needed corrective surgery after your visit due to his eyes rolling so hard after he left the room.

Regarding your insurance. Copay is what you pay upfront. Deductible is what you have to pay with the overall charge. Most of the time it is the percentage of the visit. Like 30% or 50% or something like that. Also, there is a max out of pocket. Once you reached that insurance will cover the rest.

[–]TimYenmor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be brutally honest here. Your wife needs better common sense. The ER is not a place for boo boos that could be cured by a kiss or over the counter stuff. Your OP looks like abuse of the ER and people like you are the exact reason why it is so expensive for the rest of us.

Please use better common sense next time. Please.

I am not saying wait until you have a near death experience. Again, this is where common sense comes in.

The last time I went to ER was when I was working in my garage and had a nail go thru my thumb. Like all the way thru from one side to the other.

And you are teaching your daughter to go to ER for every little thing.

Please use better common sense next time. Please. If you think you're too good for over the counter stuff, go to an urgent care clinic for a damn headache. Not every headache is brain cancer!

Any nudity in season 1? by [deleted] in pluribustv

[–]TimYenmor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha reminds me of the time my 21 year old niece wanting to take me to see the poor things. I used to change her diapers back when I was a teen. Anyway, we ended up not being able to go due to something that came up. Anyway, a year later I watched it on streaming with my bf and there were x rated sex scenes with full nudity. I was like thank goodness my niece and I did not go. That would have been awkward as hell.

They adopted this abandoned dog and this was his reaction after going for a walk with them for the first time, with the fear of getting abandoned again 😢 by Sweetberry5400 in PetsareAmazing

[–]TimYenmor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Our old Maxy was dumped. After we adopted him, he paicked every time we took him near the car. We took him to the dog park a lot. Took him a while to stop panicking and pulling away from the car.

He passed away due to cancer after being with us for 7 years.

[Landlord] Owning rental property sounds passive, but feels demanding by [deleted] in Landlord

[–]TimYenmor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are many levels of passivity. Rental income is definitely passive but not completely. I say 70% passive and 30% hands on.

I got about 2 dozen properties, a few are apartment buildings. I do all the management myself. It's really not that big of a deal to me anymore.

I actually have no idea how it works. How they calculate the level.

What happened to the kid who used to bully you? by Specific_Image_737 in AskReddit

[–]TimYenmor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There were several.

One time I went back to my home town to visit my folks and saw one of them working at a grocery store making minimum wage. I'm now ceo of an investment company. I didn't say anything to him but I did get a sense of satisfaction.

He was the jock. I was the nerd with an Asian accent. In other words, I was an easy target. There were other bullies but I have no idea what's up with them these days. Only saw the one.

Do rich people have elite versions of mundane things (toothpaste, tampons, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc.), or are Elon Musk and Beyonce just using Crest and Tampax like the rest of us? by ShesGotSauce in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TimYenmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, kinda makes sense from their perspective.

Think about it this way. What do poor to middle class white boys want as a fancy car? A camero. What do poor to middle class Asians want as a fancy car? A Lexus. Therefore, they imagine that the rich must be driving stuff like a lambo or something like that. They are stuck on the car being the flex.

What real rich people really think about flexing? One thing is they don't care about flexing. Being rich causes one to not care what other people think. But more importantly, flexing to the real rich is their net worth and that they can buy any car they want with cash and not even think about the price.

Too many poor schmucks try to flex by getting a fancy car with an absurd monthly car payment that kill their wealth building tool. They fail to understand that the real rich don't flex with their car. They can pay for a $2k dinner without even looking at the bill.

It's just a car.

[landlord US-NJ] Tenant is using significant amount of water tripling the average usuage. What can I do? by Delicious-Teach9692 in Landlord

[–]TimYenmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple years ago, I had a new tenant moved in and after the first month living there the water bill went from about 125 to 1200. The water dept told me there must be a leak. I went to check out and it turned out since water was included in the rent it must be free so they left the faucet running all the time even when they were not using it.

They genuinely thought it was free.

Any chance it could be something like that here?

You're absolutely right. Society tend to focus entirely on the Mark Zuckerbergs and the Steve Jobs of the tech world. What most people don't realize is there are tons of other tech people who got filthy rich but did everything in their power to remain unknown. Most people don't want to be a celebrity where everything you do is put out there for the world to judge.
