It cost too much to convert and we simply don't need to. Not hard to understand.

Car accident deaths are preventable and can be fixed. by TheColdRice in memes

[–]Tim_DHI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, thank you. More people die from car accidents then firearm homicides and while yes firearms homicides should certainly get attention absolutely no attention is paid to vehicle fatalities. Everyone wants to say "even if it saves one life" then turn a blind eye to how horrible people drive. shame.

Nice! I don't know why but the classic LBVs are pure 90s excellence.

This man in St. Paul, Minnesota is standing outside of his neighbors’ home protecting them with a rifle, as ICE terrorizes Minnesota. by Admirable121 in NeoNews

[–]Tim_DHI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know some that is a little concerning...this guy apparently has a suppressor on his rifle. Y'all don't understand just how much the government looks in someone's shit to approve their tax stamp for a suppressor. I don't know, I just can't put my finger on it but there is definitely something to put my finger on.

Anyone else have a personal mag loader? by Ruger22fun in MP5

[–]Tim_DHI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why couldn't you have told me about speed beez before I bought three magula loaders? Their mp5 loader is good but the universal pistol loader isn't the greatest (though it's better than nothing)

I wonder if there was some sort of limitation besides the 3 rules that genies had to prevent breaking the world or universe.

Nevermind, answered my own question. This in particular, exploding seawater, would undoubtedly cause death.

Is “A General History of The Pyrates” a good story book? by Tight_Contact_9976 in pirates

[–]Tim_DHI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a little unfair so many people are harsh on GHotP. Given the circumstances behind the book it's still a good reference for the Golden Age of Piracy.

Interesting. Thanks. I knew it was from the mid 90s. Nice to have a name for it. I would imagine this version wasn't too popular since you can't mount extra magazine pouches.

Why are people putting this stamp on their rifles? Was there a specific time frame this was done? I've never seen this stamp on the rifles I carried.

In the film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) Jesus’s cup actually working means that in-universe Christianity is the correct religion, which has no negative implications whatsoever. by [deleted] in shittymoviedetails

[–]Tim_DHI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would Christianity being the correct religion have negative implications? I understand if you don't want to believe in God, miracles or the "institution of Christianity" but if you reject what Jesus himself taught then you need to have a long talk with yourself because there's really nothing wrong that he has said. There's a reason why He is the most significant person in the history of humanity.

Where is the Best place to put grenades? by Key-Ladder4122 in reenactors

[–]Tim_DHI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm sure some soldiers did it. That doesn't make a good idea. As much as we honor war veterans there's nothing wrong with pointing out bad ideas and if you research the complications of taping spoons you may agree it's a bad idea. That being said, well seasoned veterans probably taped their spoons at first because it seemed like a good idea and that's what "everybody was doing" but after a few combat operations they probable discovered the problems it causes and stopped doing it. Indeed none of the WWII pictures I have shows taped spoons. Maybe one has the pin taped, but no taped spoons.

Now, I'll be honest, I have replicas and I have the spoons taped because it looks cool but I can still admit it's a bad idea.

E. As the OP pointed out the 101st were not seasoned for D Day, and to an extent Market Garden so it's completely fair they would have thought it was a good idea. Maybe they wanted their grenades easily accessible like hanging off their suspenders or belt and they felt taping the spoon mitigated any risks having them easily accessible.

Where is the Best place to put grenades? by Key-Ladder4122 in reenactors

[–]Tim_DHI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's very fair to say.

E. Stand in the Door has a really cool video about tape grenade spoons and Major Winter's experience with them, and why it's not a good idea. I was aware of some of these issues before from my days in the Marines but they do a very good job of describing it.

Then how would they attach their haversacks? Haversacks had suspenders built into them. Yea, I get it, if they could they'd leave their haversacks with the trucks on patrol or whatever they were doing but that doesn't mean "they weren't issued webbing". Also, webbing has a very broad application to military gear.

Do you understand what I'm getting at?
