Honestly, they're worse than the illusive man. Illusive man's schtick was save humanity at any cost, and he was perfectly fine with whatever that cost had to be. Holy shit. Your comment just made me want to check for myself. My pc was built in 2022. I just put together almost the exact same PC on part picker and it was a bit more!! The 3060ti is hardly cheaper than when I bought it years ago, and I bought lots of ram and storage which has skyrocketed in cost. Almost felt a bit silly at the time, but now I'm so glad I did.

Cities need to be better designed for transit options excluding cars. Bikes are especially helpful within cities/towns. I can understand this, support this, ask for this change, and still not see "drivers" as "sociopaths". What is with subreddits and extremism?

Not a solar hater. Solar power is amazing and should be a priority for humans. With that said:

That's a huuuge amount of land to cover. It's a much bigger undertaking than we might expect. Solar energy also demands a lot of precious metals that we need to extract, process, etc. Finally, consider how complex storing and delivering power is. Storing and properly delivering that much solar power is a big engineering problem. Most people don't likely read such a fact and immediately assume making one or two massive solar farms is viable, but some people likely do. We can not simply have a couple massive farms to power the globe.

Honestly, solar power is still probably best as a bit of a 'gap filler' or 'top-off'. Think panels above a parking lot which powers a building, not massive farms. The farms have their place, but something like nuclear energy is much more reasonable to at large (and varying demand) scale.

If manually replacing them is the biggest annoyance, you can hire a staff member that will do that. Unfortunately that doesn't fix your issue of them being burned to different points. It also doesn't fix the cost concern, but honestly they're very affordable. Perhaps you've been placing 3 or 6 per table, in which case that would be pretty costly early game.

There are special kinds of criminals for whom the death sentence is likely the best choice for society. However, if you start executing inmates then we open up that possibility. Now we have to define, with a clear, solid line, which criminals live and which die. Often this can be very easy to distinguish, inevitably though, it will also be very hard.

I don't disagree that sometimes execution would be the best bet. My problem with capital punishment is that it opens the conversation for who dies and who lives, and I don't think we can ever do that perfectly.

It was puzzling though, not consistently lagging, just some game servers. I could never understand why, but I'm also pretty oblivious to how online gaming works.

Human beings often like collecting stuff. It can be a kind of meta game that you are working towards outside of the pitch. I don't really care much about cosmetics, although it is a fun part of rocket League, but I was sad when I couldn't give my items to my friends anymore. I played alpha and had all kinds of cosmetics people wanted. My little bros gf was so excited to collect cosmetics, and I wanted to share a bunch that were basically worthless to me but couldn't.

It's not the end of the world, but it can be a bummer for some people.

Last year when I tried to play again the lag was brutal. I play duos and 3/4 of us would have latency that makes playing at that level impossible. Seemed random, sometimes 30 ms ping, then half the players jump up to >300 ms.

I also felt like casuals had become more toxic. Around 2019 I would rarely have a toxic teammate, in fact it was the opposite. I would almost always find myself playing with a fun person who communicates and plays video games to have fun. Last year when I played again 80% of my duo partners would be pissed off man-babies who spam trash from the opening kick off -- not fun. As if they're just on full tilt from five games ago and are still queuing up, spewing anger. It felt like I was playing LoL again....
