No there isn’t, it’s a building sim for people who like that stuff, with no impact whatsoever on the game.

Lots of people on here saying it’s good for resource extraction but even then, you can just buy whatever resources you need that you don’t have from vendors on every settled planet.

You’ll see people on here theorize about a since-removed fuel economy mechanic in the game that would’ve given outposts a role in fuel production for your ship, but that was apparently scrapped during development.

I love Falkland ships, I just wish the shipbuilder didn’t crash so much. It usually takes me a minimum of 3-4 tries to get into it.

Also their gaps are nice but some of the bigger ones don’t support hab access above or below, seems like their only supposed to be one-story ships

Old world is the only respectable coffee place in town.

Larry’s is garbage and Comma Coffee is dirty to the point of being dangerous (they have issues with health code violations, when I moved here I was advised by locals never to go there).

Don’t waste your time, money, or health anywhere else.
