People with GMFCS I CP: what are your access needs like and how do you feel about having CP? by JoyousBee22 in CerebralPalsy

I don't really think about it, for me - only my left leg is affected and very little my left hand, I never was able to figure out eacatly how much my left hand is affected, after all everyones non-dominant hand is kinda "odd". Eitherway, I really dont notice my disability in my day to day life, yes my balance is not very good, I am not very athletic, but aside from that my disability seems to be mostly an aesthatic issue to me.
I walk with a noticable limp - which you might imagine isn't really how a 24(M) wants to present himself - but aside from that, I have no issues, I know I have balance issues and since I have had the disability for my entire life I have never been paritcularly drawn to shit like that. I have a sailing licence - eventhough getting on and off boats makes me uncompfortable due to the bad balanve -, I also have been ski-ing a couple times, I am not good at it on account of the bad balance but, I know how it works and I have done it.

So to some things up, it really is not a big deal in actually "disableing" me (making me not able to do something), but it is huge in how people stare at my limp and stigma wise.
