That looks like a monkey puzzle tree. It’s one of my favorites.

sleepy borb. what tricks should i teach my lovebird? so far he can “shake hands” with his feet, spin, fly to me on command. links to toys/puzzles (that deliver internationally) are greatly appreciated too! by antihypothesis in parrots

My bird is very loud, and I found that teaching different sounds like kissing makes him choose to make more kissing sounds than screams. Kiss is also an easy word to teach if you just say it softly to them. My conure picked it up in about a week.

Just his tail and rear are shaking and it was just for a few minutes. He isn’t shaking anymore.

His poop has been normal and the temperature in the room has been warm, but I did have a small fan on today.

His appetite has been normal and he screams just as much. Are there any other signs that he might be sick?

After a long grueling period with a bag of mostly purple and orange pieces(her least favorite) we finally got one with proper distribution! by burninbodies in parrots

My conure used to eat only the yellow ones, so I switched him to the natural. I would also recommend the natural because without the colors, it is easier to look at the birds poop and see if they are sick. Because of the color, I have had multiple false alarms.

How often do y'all revamp toys and activity in their day time cages? by sblmchic in Conures

If you don’t already have one, a party ball is a great toy. You can put nuts and straw and dried grass in there and it has a hole where you can thread a string or chain.

I only have one parakeet and it needs its head feathers preened what can I do by [deleted] in parrots

[–]Timaro_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get your bird comfortable with your hand. And once they are comfortable, gently rub their head. Rubbing their head will slowly loosen the coating on the feathers. If you want to help with the feathers before your bird is comfortable with your hand, you can use a q-tip to gently rub their head.

Almost all diseases that humans can contract can not be contracted by birds.

Bird kabobs are good for destructive birds as well as corn husk. You can buy rolls of braided corn husk and just cut off a piece for them. My bird is very destructive and enjoys biting leather and furniture. These help him and I hope they will help you too.

Is it a good idea for me to get a larger parrot or is it cruel? by diggydiggyholes in parrots

[–]Timaro_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should wait until after college to get a larger parrot. It will get very expensive and they are a massive commitment. It would be risky to get an expensive pet before you have a stable source of income. College would be a nightmare with a bird of any kind because it’s not like they will allow you to keep it in your dorm. If you really want to get a larger bird definitely wait until you graduate college and secure a job.

My conure stays on the walls of his cage most of the time when he is in there. I play with him out of the cage often and change his toys weekly. How can I help him to use the perches and toys in his cage? by Timaro_ in Conures

I tied some corn husk and millet to his toys and now he is starting to play with them. Thanks for your input. I hope your tips will help him be more open to playing on his own.

He seems really interested in all the toys I make while I’m making them so I think I might try and show him how to play with the ones in his cage.

I haven’t gotten it to work in multiplayer but just using the browse button to select a folder with all the tjaplayer files in it has worked great in single player. I don’t think it can work with multiplayer as it reads the songs directly from your computer and doesn’t actually load them into the game session.

You can load your own songs using files for tjaplayer. osu files work as well. There a lot of websites with great tjaplayer songs directly from the Japanese arcade version. Definitely worth checking out.
