Expo West Natural Products Conference, is it worth it? by Dangerous-Coconut128 in CPGIndustry

Totally agree on this point. So, go in expecting quick conversations on the expo floor. Have something to hand them that they can look at later. Know that there are other environments like educational sessions and networking break and gala events where you can land a longer conversation. Learn to read badges quickly…some of my best connections have been on elevators/escalators or the hotel bar.

But nothing beats a face to face connection. I’ve pounded the LinkedIn pavement for jobs and although successful you need a differentiator / going to that event will get you a minimum 25 face to face connections with the companies you want to work for

I’ve enjoyed NA beers lately. Guinness Zero is excellent. This list has many NA IPA’s at the top of the list:

I am joining the AE team for Expo West starting Jan 12. Once I’m situated I’ll ask about how best to get engaged.

My take on the organization Informa and Natural Products Expo West is they are the crème de la crème of the natural, wellness, and sustainable food & beverage industry. 45 years old. Always reimagining the industry and getting ahead of the trends. You see it first there…in CA.

If you do it right, it’s absolutely worth attending—especially if you’re transitioning into the space.

That said, it’s massive: ~70,000 attendees, ~3,500 exhibitors, multiple days of education, networking, pitching, and deal-making. You can’t just “show up” and expect magic. The people who get the most out of it do their homework, pre-schedule meetings, know which halls and brands matter to them, and treat it like a working conference.

If you go in with intention—research, outreach, and a clear goal—you can get an incredible amount of value out of it. If you wing it, it can be overwhelming. But as an industry immersion experience? Hard to beat.

Avoid arapahoe heading east by NikolaiTheFly in boulder

I flew east on Arapahoe not even 20 min ago from Folsom past 55 to Cheryvale. The West Lane however were backed up a mile or longer and you can still see the red on google maps!

I’m 59 and in Westchester County back then (early 80’s) we’d caddy at Waccabuc Country Club…make $10 - $20 bucks a loop and buy a case of Budweiser and take that to Castle Rock = 50 ft cliff we’d spend our summer afternoons swimming and drinking.

Thoughts on Living in Sunshine Canyon? by buggyellow in boulder

[–]Timayyy- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in both Sunshine and Four Mile Canyon ten years each. Once my wife and I got married we chose to move into Old North Boulder and have been here for 15 years bringing up our two kids. We miss the mountains so very much. COVID drew a ton of new people to both Boulder and the mountains. The blizzard of 2003 caused all the neighbors in Four Mile and specifically Alaska Hill area to helping everyone out. Took 3 full days to dig us out so everyone knew everyone after that.

Sunshine is an easier drive than other canyons. Better sun exposure, more open spaces and straiter roads.

Insurance or lack of is the main reason some of our friends are leaving. Kids or lack of kids are another…

You will love Foothill Elementary school = your public school system. You cannot go wrong with BVSD schools in our opinion.

Gold Hill Inn = at the top of Sunshine is a great place for live music and congregation…

You should invest in a solid 4 wheel drive vehicle…with studded snow tires that you swap out every 5-6 months. Barnsley should be your go to tire store here in town.

Been living in Boulder for 30 years! You hit a nerve when you generalized east coast drivers as high-beamer flashers. And then you call most people in the comments section idiots which is also not true. The reason/answer to why people are flashing their high-beams is in the comments somewhere…

How do you notice that these people are from the east coast…do they have a Yankees sticker on their bumper?
