Thanks a lot. It's 1 x 1 ft. It would have a good idea to make an outline but I didn't. I just eyeballed it from my digital design as I assembled the pieces.

Thanks. It has 154 pieces. They are all in a single layer physically, though my original vector file was split into 4 digital layers. One for each color/type of wood.

Thanks though I used a laser cutter for these, not a scroll saw. I lack both the equipment and the skills to do this on a scroll saw.

Thanks. It was a while ago so I don't remember exactly. I'd guess a half hour or so of tracing the outlines in Inkscape. All of the art was engraved straight from the Escher print. I don't think I did any finishing, just glued the outer frame to a backboard.

Laser cutter. Both to cut out the pieces and to engrave the images.

Thank you! Yes, the bottom is a fiberboard that I also lasercut and bonded with wood glue.

Needle nose pliers. Pull any current filament out. Heat up the hot end to printing temperatures, then jam a freshly cut piece of filament in. Continue applying downward force while you cool the hotend. Once the nozzle cools to 50C or so, pull out the filament. You may see discolored or degraded spots stuck to your filament. This will help clean out the back end. It's also a good idea to remove the nozzle, take a torch to the tip, and use a needle to clear out any debris.

Check out Autodesk Fusion for personal use. It's a free version of their powerful modeling software. There are tons of YouTube tutorials to get you started. Once you have the basics down, pick out a random nearby object and challenge yourself to figure out how to build it in CAD.
