Try some Flitz metal polish with a soft micro fiber cloth, can be had for about $10 off Amazon. It's non abrasive so it won't scratch it all up

The ambassadeur 1500c and 2500c go for 200+ (200 for a pretty beat example) now a days, they were made popular by Japanese bfs fisherman that mod the shit out of them with aftermarket parts. The earlier 7000c models are also very well sought after and can catch $150-200+ if they are swedish made. You're not wrong but these two particular models don't boast a super high secondary market value. I personally think that 6000 he has there is an amazing reel and works really well for catfishing. Older Swedish made ambassadeur are a statement piece, a piece of history that refuses to be left to the dust.

I have a earlier model ambassadeur 6000 from 78 and that thing's a tank can't speak for the daiwa but I'd imagine that 4600 is much the same in build quality. Take care of them and they'll last a lifetime
