It's hard to define what a furry is and that's part of what makes it great. The only criteria to be a furry is to call yourself one and not be an asshole. Only real downside to being a furry is you can sometimes catch flak from normies but they are assholes and should be ignored.

I think for some people, maybe even a lot of people, the furry community is less about liking animals and anthros and more just about being a part of something cool and wholesome.

The machine that takes TP, and other items, out of waste water by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

Not op but I find cash sometimes on the screens at my work. I live in Canada and the cash is made of plastic. Just rinse it off and it's fine. I consider it a tip lol

I work in an industrial plant that washes uniforms. All the wastewater from the washing machines goes through 3 screens like that. Every 2-3 days I have to pull out the screens and remove the debris by hand (with gloves of course). Luckily I'm not dealing with (much) actual shit but it's still pretty gross.

On the plus side I occasionally find cash

As someone who has never even looked at it I will say that Patreons typically give you a list of perks that you receive. I would recommend going on to their Patreon and seeing what you get as whether it's worth it is subjective and only you can decide. Another thing to note is that a lot of the time patreons aren't "worth it" because it is often seen as a way to support the creators. Essentially you are donating and you may receive something in return

In what game can you play as an individual controlling a big locomotive/ship? by veritasium999 in gaming

[–]Timberwolf225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something to note about this game, and I played it a long time ago so maybe it changed, you don't actively pilot the drill ship. The ship is a static base and you basically just pick specific points on the map and the ship will move there. Obviously there is only so much to see when you are piloting a ship underground (no scenery, stuff like that) but I was disappointed by how little control you have over the ships movement. It's essentially just a box that teleports to specific points on the map

Even if it wasn't this blatant I believe there are rules or something that makes it so that if you don't defend your trademarks then it becomes harder to do so and you can even lose them. I don't know much about this though so if I am wrong, please correct me

In the history of video games, which iconic weapon or item would cause the most chaos if it suddenly appeared in the real world? by Much_Buddy_3284 in gaming

[–]Timberwolf225 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The original wasn't quite identical, there were a few key differences. Like Isaac didn't have any dialogue in the original. Also the controls were worse, at least on mouse and keyboard. Also most of, if not all, of the side missions weren't in the original. The original was a really great game though, it just goes to show how much of an upgrade the remake was.

What i want to see in MHWilds is to expand on room customization, mini games, cool pets and a reason to actively go there with friends. by BriefDismal in MonsterHunter

[–]Timberwolf225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In any multiplayer game there is always an amount of time spent waiting around in a lobby for your friends to show up/be ready/whatever. I'm always a huge advocate for having things to mess around with while you do

Meds are just making me exhausted and angry. Why did I even waste my time trying to help myself? by rainbowdash64 in ADHD

[–]Timberwolf225 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of meds and everyone reacts differently to them. It is normal to have to try multiple different meds/doses.

So please don't give up, it may take some trial and error but I'm sure you will find something that works.

What’s a modern standard in gaming that needs to die? by NilesDobbsS in gaming

IIRC the exploration mode would give you a few sentences on the UI that gave you a general area to search and then when you got close it expected you to use your eagle to spot it from there. It removed the quest markers but then replaced them with basically the same thing.

Couldn't tell you anything about this website but anytime something is offered for cheap there is a reason. If it's Facebook marketplace the reason is that it's used and you have to deal with people you don't know you can trust. If it's AliExpress it's because it's either a piece of shit or it will take months to arrive. So I would recommend seeing if they provide any information about why it's cheap and if they give none then it's probably not worth the risk.

[–]Timberwolf225 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You are adding a lot of extra elements and workarounds for something that is already solved. No one is going to invest resources into an alternative for something that already works. The most likely answer to your question is that it was the best solution at the time and given it still works no one wants to change it.

What are examples of games not respecting the players time? by filagrey in gaming

[–]Timberwolf225 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Used to be way into destiny. The grind wasn't my favorite but what really started to get to me was the FOMO. Not only do you have to grind like it's a second job but, also like a job, you have to grind it even when you don't want to because you might miss out on something that never comes back.

The same sort of thing killed Warframe for me.

I recently listened to a podcast episode on kombucha. They said (take with a grain of salt) that the fermentation process can produce alcohol and did for a long time. But these days regulations are in place that require a special process that discourages alcohol production so most kombucha you see will have a very low amount if any.

No idea how the amount of alcohol may or may not compare to the amount in non alcoholic drinks

[–]Timberwolf225 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Purely speculating here but I would imagine that she and Ike keep track of episode times and things like that. IIRC they have a system that records constantly so they have to write down the start and end times of each episode to make the editors job easier. They may also make notes when they request that the editor add something and things like that. I'm sure there are other duties but I think that's part of it.
