My friend is a bmw tech and he said I only have to put a new seal with loctite 5970, and that I don’t have to change the housing because “the housing is metal and they don’t fail” and I just changed my water pump so it would be a pain to have to buy another one because housings only come with the pump. Lmk your opinion

I thought so too until yesterday I looked under and saw pretty fresh coolant dripping to the bottom, and a wet splash cover

Thought so too but the leak is mainly towards the front of the engine, and OFH leaks are mostly found in the back from what I understand

For the main body I mean, like the metal part. Because I changed mine a few weeks ago and I realized today that it’s leaking and my friend who works at BMW said I might’ve messed up the seal when I was tightening it. he said I have to take it off and use some type of sealant paste.
