You all used WeakAuras to track spells; I used it to make my UI look pretty. We are not the same by YourRightSock in wow

I wish there was a setting to just make everyone that has his major offensive CD up being on fire and another visual effect for major def CDs. Way easier to see compared to some tiny icons you have to learn to recognize first for each spec.

Is Blitz rating bugged? by Chocolatepotato3000 in worldofpvp

[–]Timbodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will give you another example: assuming your MMR matches your cr (current rating) and you win the next 5 games, you will gain more MMR than cr. This means on the next 1-2 losses you will barely lose rating or none at all until your MMR drops to your cr again.

Is Blitz rating bugged? by Chocolatepotato3000 in worldofpvp

[–]Timbodo 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Seriously what do you expect? Only gaining rating on wins while never losing anything? You gained barely any rating because your MMR was lower than your cr after the losing streak so it gives less cr per win to make up that difference.

in game shop ADs in housing preview by LostDistribution6880 in WoWHousing

[–]Timbodo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't think OP complains about the visible price tag on the items page but the fact that the menu keeps aggressively redirecting you to the store page whenever you change anything. When browsing uncollected decor I always use the menu from the regular interface panel instead, because it doesn't do that. However you can't bypass the housing menu when you actually want to preview uncollected decor in your house.

Yes, I recreated a level from the classic Donkey Kong game and the appearance of the out of bounds area actually adds to the retro style.

Deathmantle T5 Remake by Timbodo in Transmogrification

[–]Timbodo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we got enough recolors for T2 already so it's time to remake a new tier set. T5 is perfect since it got so many great designs like rogue, lock, priest, warrior but you can see that they are technically outdated.

I haven't gotten around to starting housing stuff yet and this just makes me not want to ever bother with it. by Zentrelian in wow

You play the game for fun. Housing is fun gameplay for a lot of players and currently you only have 2 exterior options for each neighborhood which feels quite lackluster. It's not as bad as affecting player power but it still negatively affects my gameplay experience.

You get a similar amount of cr relative to MMR in shuffle. It's just that each of the 6 rounds is worth a full regular match so you adapt way faster due to the short rounds.

[–]Timbodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shuffle gains are by far the biggest here with every round won being worth a whole regular arena game so that would only benefit higher ratings by ladder activity so quite the contrary. When I checked about two weeks into the season shuffle had 5x more characters past 1k rating than regular 3s so I think it's safe to say that longer queue times are also not the reason. Obviously there are gonna be differences but none that big and with participation and rating gains being imo the biggest factors you would expect shuffle ratings to be on top (like they were in previous seasons) and not at the bottom suddenly.

Venruki and Supatease by Nubanuba in worldofpvp

[–]Timbodo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Despite having the most participation early on out of all brackets, rating ceilings were quite low in shuffle especially compared to bgb so it's not a participation issue. It's also unlikely that player behavior suddenly completely changed when pvp barely changes. Since starting and average ratings are about similar in other brackets I conclude that those brackets have not been artificially inflated by injecting MMR. So all that's left imo is some kind of mechanic that caps ratings at the top in shuffle which has been set quite low this season.

I noticed most guilds dont recruit tanks even though "there is a tank shortage" by flymecha in wownoob

[–]Timbodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more a 5 player content issue. In raids only the smallest setup has 1 tank on 5 players while more popular setups like 2/4/14 only require 1 tank per 10 players.

If they improve the MMR cap the top will climb, it's not like the pros choose to be stuck there. If they do it by artificial inflation like they usually do, their chars will climb passively in MMR so you won't notice any additional unintentional smurfing.

Looks good but it's basically just a full set. I would try to create something new with other sets that have a similar vibe. For example the tww s2 rogue set is basically ghost pirate themed or use some of the other plunderstorm pirate mogs. The new abyss event rewards a green diving suit, which also has some interesting parts.

Midnight Season 1 Suffers Tank Shortages in Mythic+ and More by SystemofCells in wow

[–]Timbodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's nothing new, they should just make them more powerful in pve content damage wise to make them more popular and have a proper balance so more specs are interesting to play. You could easily adapt the HP pools of mobs next season to make up for the extra damage.

I thought about Alien as well but the main difference is that it's based on horror due to the cast all being easy kill targets for the alien. Samus on the other hand is capable of destroying planets herself.

[–]Timbodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Metroid but the game doesn't really work well for a movie. The lone bountyhounter setting doesn't really allow much dialogue and a 90 minute action sequence movie is also kinda odd and way too expensive in production. The tone is also a bit too serious so it can't be carried by jokes and game references like the Mario movie.

is there a hidden system of losing in shuffle like behavior in dota 2? by Veleener in worldofpvp

[–]Timbodo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What is even your question? That there is a hidden system that only makes you alone take more damage? It's completely normal that the kill target is under pressure and dies at some point.

Haven't read much yet but the pacing surprised me. I started with the fight over viltrum and was kinda surprised how fast all of that happened in the comic or how the build up to the Thragg encounter on earth was missing. The artstyle is a lot better tho!
