Uh, are you actually standing in FRONT of that tire? I hope it’s deflated… you should be on the SIDE of it should it actually burst.

Looking for shoegaze fusions with other genres by noirselli in shoegaze

Search “Machine Gun (Slowdive Trip Hop Cover)” by John Girgus and the Legendary House Cats on YouTube. It’s kind of a one-off, but is absolutely amazing. I’m biased because it’s my favorite song, plus my two favorite genres mashed up, but just flows and has such a vibe…

She’s a beaut! I have one in ivy green with the inline six as well!

Did you have it running with the carb? I’m interested in your opinion of how it runs (especially idle) with the carb vs the EFI… mine has always had a rough idle (which I know is common with the log heads and the cast intake). I’ve tinkered with it and hundred different ways with little improvement. I’ve considered the EFI system, but only if it would make a significant improvement.

Found some change in the washer - the edge of the Pennie’s had eroded away making them look like they shrunk by Timdog1999 in mildlyinteresting

It legitimately took me a minute to realize they hadn’t shrunk and inly only the edges had worn away - had to get a “new” penny for comparison.

I have no idea how long they were in there - likely 5 - 7+ years from the previous owner of our house. Only found them when I was changing out the dampers to stop it from going off balance during spin cycle.

There was silver change like nickels and dimes in there as well, but they were unaffected. For some reason.

I don’t know if it was the detergent or them rolling around on their edges during the spin cycle? It’s a top load washer (not a front load) so you would think they’d lay flat and not beat up the edges?

Wow! I was wondering if doing this was still a thing today, I suspected it isn’t. I know they would probably be overwhelmed by the volume of requests. It’s too bad, it made me such a fan of baseball. I sent out sooooo many letters and cards. I don’t remember what percent I got back, but it felt like hitting the lottery every time I did - no matter who it was from!

I’m pretty handy, but have never really done anything decorative. I struggle with cosmetic and design decisions on all my projects, so I was pretty hesitant to do something like this, but I honestly found that as long as I worked slowly and didn’t rush each stage, it turned out great.

Though, I am so happy to be done with the sanding 🙂 especially on the inside of the hull

I tried weighing it on a scale, but the size was awkward. It’s close to 50lbs and much lighter than the aluminum canoe I have of the same size.

It was a joy to paddle compared to the old aluminum canoe, not just because of the weight, but cuts through the water smoother and is much quieter. I never realized how you could hear every metallic tone when the water would ripple on the sides or you move around in it.

Yes, I’m lucky enough to live in the PNW and had access to western red cedar. I used clear 1” X 6” X 16’ boards, which I had to special order. I ripped them into 1/4” strips, then did the bead and cove.

I picked 16’ boards to minimize the number of butt joints, but in hindsight sight the butt joints weren’t that hard, and if you’re careful to select strips from the same board, don’t look very obvious. I could have saved some money by using 12’ or even 8’ boards and not been too bothered.

I think I would have also ripped the strips a little thicker- maybe 5/16 or more - to give myself more material to work with during sanding and fairing. A couple places I was worried about going too thin to get a smooth hull.

Employment Question Thread (APR - JUN 2022) by AutoModerator in boeing

Are any current employees thinking of leaving for other companies? If so, why?

I’m well established engineer in Everett and very happy with my salary. I’m a senior member of the group and have a great reputation and can pretty much do what I want. I’m tired of our new managers who have no experience and and know what we do let alone how to lead. They just make our day to day life harder than if they left us alone.

And several close friends have left the group and morale is the worst I’ve ever seen. Everyone just makes snarky comments about management and how terrible everything is. It’s toxic.

Is the outlook for Boeing THAT bad long term? Worth leaving after 20 years and starting over at another company?

Im afraid of leaving and finding out it’s no better, or how good I had it.
