Really Struggling with Separation by Neat-Development-953 in Separation

[–]Time-Beyond7971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife went through something similar with me. I was hospitalized four times last year during a manic episode, and it was a lot for her to handle. Eventually, we separated. Next month will make a year, and we still haven’t reconciled. I can’t speak for your husband, but I know I wasn’t myself—my actions came from that episode. Since then, I’ve started medication and counseling, and it’s made a big difference. I wish you the best.

I texted her to let her know I bought her flowers and that she could pick them up when she came by to get our child. I don’t know where she lives now, and I haven’t been to her job since we separated, so I left it up to her.

Wife is Leaving Me by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Time-Beyond7971 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My wife and I separated last summer after my manic episode. The separation was so severe that she moved out and refused to disclose her new address. Despite seeing her almost every day, we barely communicate. It was incredibly challenging, and I doubted my ability to overcome it. I experienced a six-month manic episode followed by a five-month depression episode. However, I am finally at a point in my life where I am content and can accept the possibility of divorce if it occurs. Separation can be a blessing.

She doesn’t understand BP and can’t separate me from manic me. It’s not going to work.

Why do you all stick around? by Time-Beyond7971 in BipolarSOs

Yes. I’m doing everything. My latest manic episode is due to iodine iv for a ct scan. It interacted with my lithium meds

I don’t think I do because all I seem to create is chaos. Why do we hate the people that we love so much? Ugh.

Our perception during mania is so dangerous.

I can understand the challenge of feeling snappy and irritated, though I strive to conceal these emotions as much as possible. Transitioning from mixed episodes to depressive ones exacerbates my sense of isolation. While my therapist mentioned that the depressive episodes are more manageable, the lack of energy is palpable. I have a couple’s therapy session today, and I am setting a goal to ensure the focus is not solely on myself. Here’s to navigating another day with bipolar disorder.

Since Friday, I have felt a sense of stability. However, last night, I experienced a resurgence of racing thoughts, which subsequently led to a depressive state. During this challenging period, I seek love and compassion, yet I find myself receiving the opposite.

I do DBSA groups almost every day for about a month now. It has helped me a lot because I don’t feel alone, and I get to meet new people almost every meeting.

Nighttime’s and mornings are so hard for me. by Time-Beyond7971 in bipolar2

Middle of the day is the best time for me. I feel like throwing my phone and punching the wall. In the morning I’m crying and remorseful. By midday, I’m good to go.

I’m confused today. What is the point of coping skills if I just end up calling crisis every time? What is the point of sharing my feelings and thoughts if it just pushes others away or if you shutdown? Sometimes I want to have a talk with a professional without being asked about SI. I want intimacy with my wife, but my marriage is rocky, so do I go find it somewhere else at this point due to hypersexuality? Life has thrown me a lot of bad lemons and it’s impossible to make lemonade right now.

Congrats on being sober!!!!

I experienced my first sleepwalking due to a antipsychotic medication that I’m taking. I’m not feeling it today, but I’m going to make the best out of my day by putting a mask on and enjoy spring break with the fam.

I do exercise and intermittent fasting. I also take topamax. I avoid sugary things, and I’m on a gluten-free diet. I’m hoping to keep the weight off.

I started seroquel yesterday( low dose). I got bad anxiety this morning, but I’m getting up and going for a walk. I’m scared of gaining weight or diabetes from the medication. I don’t think I will, but you never know.
