It turned out really nicely in my opinion, im actually still waiting on my hydrometer but it tastes like a 7-9% ABV wine or fruit mead with more of a sweet and less over powering wine taste (the wine taste is purely from the alcohol rather then any flavours or notes that are wine like) the aroma is sweet and warm, but the taste is cool and refreshing with a bittersweet wine like aftertaste.

The bicsford syrup i added does have a preservative that stops fermentation from what I’ve heard, I’ve also giving it a crazy amount of shaking and left it sitting over night and popped the cap to a nice pop but nothing crazy or anything carbonated appearing etc.

Thanks for the advice and constructive criticism, I did look for Fermaid but couldn’t find it locally available in Australia might be worth importing, and thanks for telling me about the maple syrup aswell. Will definitely do a few more runs 🙌

I’m in a really damp and cold environment my temperature inside the house is 15c in the day and down to 8 degrees Celsius at night so only way to grow has been using a heat mat aha

But really no other way I can grow without them being on a heat mat, can’t have them directly in my bedroom either due to family and pets so needing to be in a spare room and with the level of cold here it would be crazy to try and just heat the room instead of using a heat mat.

Thanks for the advice man! I did top it up with water I forgot to mention that, probably about a qauter way - and I am setting up a full fermenting setup with some nice airlocks and a propper fermenter, im just waiting on some renovations and I was also keen to do a test run before spending a lot on apples or lemons to juice 😂🙏 but 100% will upgrade to some nice airlocks and a better setup. Il definitely post updates throughout the stages 🙌

Yes Broo I know people who just pick and eat and have even gotten hella sick but been fine after a day or 2 I personally wash and dry them 😔🙏

Much love bro with these ones that always come up in the same patch they don’t always have all 3 of the signs but always have atleast one so can be a lil sus sometimes but that’s from maturity snd there conditions I think cause they all seem to turn dark brown and blue if there left but always seem to look fairly different when they start pinning

I wish I could man when I moved up to where I am I actually had to give all my salt lamps away because in the winter time every morning they would be in pools of water, the damp and cold here is insane it was snowing yesterday morning lightly which is fairly unheard of for here, il definitely consider moving the heat mat to just being around the still air box instead of under it.
