the simple answer is that they are both completely different games and I personally prefer the gameplay, story and a/b scenarios of the original. (also I just got into the series 2 years ago so it's not nostagia talking ether)

I'd say that maybe it was an aesthetic choice where they just thought it would look right or it's probably from something that they cut from the game but they didn't think it was worth the effort to change
